Great Cleaning Option for Lenses/Filters

The Nikon pen is the easiest way to clean lenses and filters. My only complaint is that the brush pulls into the unit and does not have a cap to cover. It would also be nice to know how much fluid is left in the unit besides just realizing that the pen no longer works. I've tried other methods is the lens pen is the best. There are other brands of lens pens, but this is the best one that I've tried.

Safe for most Nikon Glass except ...

The product seemed safe for the cleaning of lenses and filters, and the results had been quite good. However, the Nikon pen immediately damaged large areas of coating on my new Nikon R60 filter. As one cannot be certain which Nikon glass products can be safely cleaned with the pen, I suggest caution when interpreting Nikon's blacket statement of product compatibility. In accordance with Adorama's grading scale, I rate the product as a 2 in that it needs something ... either a full assessment ...

Excellent lens cleaner

By

from Wilmington, DE

The specs say it's good for something like a 1000 cleanings. I lose count and they are inexpensive enough that I just get a new one each year. Slight change from the old design in that the cap screws on now. Should make it harder to lose the cap but not sure if it will effect the charging for use (you twist the cleaning surface in the cap to refresh the cleaning compound). I was probably "charging" it too much before anyway. 4 stars until I am sure I like the screw on cap, then it will be 5 stars again.

Convenient, Easy to Use

Having the brush and cleaning tip in one tool is handy and makes it easy to find the tool in the camera bag. Great to remove the accidental finger smudge or dust that lands on your lens.

It does the trick - good lens pen

By

from Southern Cali  -  Casual user

Use the product to clean the front elements on my Nikon DX lenses. The brush is nice for safely removing dust and the cleaning tip gets ride of smudges. A good lens pen like this one combined with a good air blower (rocket!) is the easiest way I have found to keep my camera stuff clean. I keep some microfiber cloths as well for wiping other things down, but on the front lens element I prefer the air blower and the lens pen.

Excellent Product

I trust this Lens Pen on my 300 f4 and 400 f2.8 It is easy to handle on all sizes of front (and rear) elements. It would be nice if the cap could be stored on the end not in use.

works ok

By

from Los Angeles, CA  -  Getting Started

Pros: Nice compact cleaning pen, doesn't require cleaning liquid or cleaning pads. Brush is retractable, and can be extended easily with one click. Cleaning tips is right sized, easy to swipe across lens. Cons: Brush doesn't do a very good job at removing dust particles. No way to clean the brush itself, so if dust particles remain, they will find their way on your lens during a clean.

Great for general lens cleaning.

Works as expected. Nice to have both the brush and the cleaning pad in one tool. These are light weight, easy to pack, and great for keeping lenses clean while on the go.
