Nikon Aculon: Picture 1 regular $143.95

About Nikon Aculon

If smaller means better, then Nikon's all-new ACULON Rangefinder is at the top of its class. With its ultra-compact size (3.6"x2.9"x1.5), this new rangefinder redefines "portability" and is small enough to fit inside almost any pocket. Weighing just 4.4 ounces (without batteries), the ACULON Rangefinder is built to be taken everywhere.

The ACULON Rangefinder has 6x magnification and a 20mm objective lens. It features long eye relief (16.7 mm) and is engineered using Nikon's multilayer coated optics for bright and clear images. The ACULON is programmed in Distant Target Priority Mode - meaning that it will display the range of the furthest target amongst a group of targets measured. This is particularly useful if the object being measured is partially obscured by grass or brush.

The ACULON Rangefinder delivers an accurate reading from six yards all the way out to 550 yards. Measurements are easy to read on Nikon's uncluttered, easy-to-view display. A simple, single-button operation makes it easy to get a quick measurement when needed. When the button is held down, the rangefinder gives a continuous measurement for up to 20 seconds as the user scrolls across the visible area.

Usual Reliable Nikon Quality

I use the products to hunt feral hogs in Texas, and the Aculon works perfectly even in heavy brush. There's nothing I'd change.

Great hunting tool

I use the Aculon for hunting feral hogs here in Texas, and it's excellent. The range finder is right on target, and I have no complaints about any of its features. Would recommend it without hesitation.

As always, Nikon is superlative.

Mostly for hunting wild hogs. Easy to use, ergonomic controls. No features I would criticize.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  can you focus?
LARRY S  No. It seems to always be in focus
Shopper  Does it have a back lite and will it work at night?
LARRY S  No, there is no back light or "night vision" with this unit, but it does have 7 power magnification. (like a one eyed pair of binoculars) What ever ambiant light is available is what you get. (starlight, moonlight, etc.)
Paulo A  Does this work well on golf courses? Specifically, does it easily pick up the pin on the green?
LARRY S  I'm not a golfer but I would say that with 7 power magnification you would have no trouble seeing the pin, and ANYTHING in side of 400 to 500 yards you should have no trouble ranging every time! I ranged a piece of white PVC pipe about six feet long a few days ago at 720 yards that I couldn't even see with the naked eye.
