Shopper : NEED A NIKON MS-30 BATTERY HOLDER FOR THE F-5?THOMAS R : Very hard to find MS-30 or the MB-30. I had been on wait list for more than 1 year for Nikon back order ms-30, but eventually order was dropped from system. EBay or smaller local shops are option, but still difficult. I had considered just buying a used F5 but for the money found a reasonable shape F6 instead.JERRY S : Sorry, I've tried searching myself and haven't found one as of yet. I believe I bought my original at Adorama in 2012 for a little under $40. You might just keep trying on eBay or find a cheap F5 that is being sold for parts and that may have one installed? Best of luck ~ JerryKELVIN A : adoramaDEAN T : Yes. I had ordered one from Adorama because, even though I supposedly had 2 of them, I couldn't find either one. Since my MH-30 rechargeables no longer worked, I needed power for my F5. I found a battery pack rebuilder in Cashmere, WA, and sent my MH-30's for rebuild. Two days later, I found one of my MS-30 battery holders. I would like to have another, because it is more convenient to just drop one into the F5, than to fumble with loose batteries when I'm in a hurry. By the way the rebuilt MH-30's work like new after rebuild.

I have not yet received the MS-30 Battery Tray, yet, however I have 2 of them somewhere. One came with the camera when I bought it new, and when I couldn't find it, I bought another. The F5 came with a rechargeable battery pack, and I had bought another along with the recharger. The rechargeable needs to be rebuilt since they are no longer available, so I decided that I would go with the MS-30 AA battery tray even though the F5 is slower using the AA batteries. I discovered that my battery tray was not in the F5 where I thought I had put it, to prevent dust etc. from getting into the camera. Then I couldn't find the other MS-30, which I had stored with my Nikon FE (which is also not where I thought I had stored it; so much for memory in my old age). In any case the MS-30 has, in the past been a very good substitute for the rechargeable battery pack, so it deserves a 5 Star Rating. As far as the one I have on backorder, I have to assume (? whatever that can mean) it will equal the other 2 that I have somewhere. Meanwhile, I will continue using my Nikon D200, which has served me well for almost 10 years now (that is about 5 generations in DSLR time.
