I use this flash mostly as a slave. It provides consistent output. Not as versatile as an SB-900 but works great as a second or third light.

I got this to bounce the flash, personally I don´t like the use of flash, but there are certain times of the day that you need that little extra help. Love that I can bounce the flash were I need it to, moves all the way and I´ve been using it specially when there´s not enough light or when the 12 o´clock light makes horrible shadows on the face.

Great flash have been using it for a while now.... It is slightly more powerful than the new SB-700 but the buttons are hard to navigate at first. A shame the price went up by cool 100 when the SB-700 came out.

It's a feature packed flash yet can be used as a regular flash. i still don't know/use most of its features, but they're there if I need them.

Buying stuff refurbished by Nikon is a no-brainer. The only difference is the money you save.

This is a great flash! I primarily use it with my D7000 as fill flash, when needed. It does the job great. I would say the only downfall is it's ability to recycle the flash quickly for the next shot.

Having a Nikon strobe on my Nikon makes a great camera even better. There are so many ways you can add flash to your photo taking its another world. I was hesitant about buying a refurbished product, but it looked and worked the same as brand new.

I have used it few times, then each time I need use it; I have to read the manual again in order to know how use it :( I bought it because I needed more output that my sb-400.

I haven't yet run this unit "through the mill" as with all the rest of the Speedlights and other Nikon gear I have owned for the last 40+ years, but out of the box it performed as expected, a great deal for the price and a valuable tool in my little arsenal. [...] I would recommend this unit.

I purchased the SB600 to use with my Saber Strips. Works well with RadioPoppers.

This is the 2nd refurbished SB-600 that I have bought with the past 2 months. It is a great flash for the price. For almost the price of 1 SB-900, I now own 2 SB-600s. It cant do everything, but for what I do, it fits the bill.

This is everything Nikon says. Being a referb shows no signs of being used.

Indistinguidable from a brand new unit, I was happy to get this Nikon SB-600 strobe for the price. Combined with my Nikon D90 it is so versatile. The Nikon flash system is terrific.

I am a former nightlife photographer and shot for a prominent club promoter in Chicago. I was accustomed to using a Canon set up with the Speedlight 580EX II on loan before I committed to my own Nikon. For my minimal budget the, SB-600 packs great value in a smaller size and compliments my D90 and shooting style rather well. It's effective, providing the right amount of light for extremely low-light portraits plus the auto-focus assist beam ensures fast and proper focus in tight spaces every time. The built-in diffuser is a nice touch, while the tilt and swivel head allows for easy and creative control of lighting. Controls are very intuitive and easy to navigate, too. Although a bounce card would've been nice to have, as on the 580EX II, I found other ways to achieve the effect with identical results to the 580. This is saying quite a bit considering the contrast in size and price. Furthermore I appreciate how incredibly light the unit is with batteries installed. This was immediately noticeable my first night out with it mounted to the body thus significantly reducing hand fatigue. All in all a phenomenal value and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I bought one and it was great. Almost as good as new with the AS-19 base as advertised and multi-lingual manuals. A few days later I bought another, and this one came with the knock-off base as per another commenter and a different English-only manual. Not Adorama's fault.[...]

To me the greatest thing about this flash is the price. It is also indeed a great flash for my D70 Nikon.

Does most of what the SB800 will do at half the price. I use this flash and SB800 interchangeably with $200 more in my pocket.

No concerns on the SB-600 as such, but I'd personally pay the extra $10 for a brand new one. I just got mine (refurbished); * It has quite a bit of scratches (even on the display). * The foot is not the original AS-19 stand but a third party plastic thing, without the metal tripod mount as the original. * In addition, the rubber button to adjust the flash fell off immediately when I unpacked it. Will try to glue it back, but for me, it's not worth the 10 bucks save...
