I got into photography about a year ago and got my first camera. After buying a new camera(I switched from canon to nikon) I became a lot more interested in taking pictures. I had never bought a flash before and frankly I didn't really know a lot about flashes, but ever since I shot with my friend who had used 3 flashes and pocketwizards to take some really awesome photos, I've wanted to get one. From one night of quick online research I concluded that the SB800 would be the best first flash for my money. It took me a little time to learn how to use the flash and adjust it to the right power settings, but it was a lot easier than I had thought. I love this flash. It was the perfect choice for a first primary flash. And although I hope to soon start experimenting with off camera flashes, I still shoot with it mounted on my camera now and I love the added lighting and noticeably better quality pictures it provides.

I just got the SB800 and it is awesome. I love it and you will too, just be aware that the flash comes with the diffuser so you do not need to buy it with this package. The batteries seem fine but I haven't put them through there paces yet.
