The plastic is a little thin for something that sticks out as it does, but it does work. Fit is reliable.

My old battery pack for my Nikon Flash was corroded and I needed to replace the battery pack housing. When I received the new one the old flash was working like a charm. FYI, if you do not change the batteries every so often your outcome will be similar.

A very simple addition to the SB flash that is truly functional. Easy to put on and use. Well worth it!

Works very well on you camera but does a little extra weight to your camera.

This holder for a fifth battery is a must for Nikon SB 800 flashes. It extends my shooting range. I don't need to change batteries as often.

I had to replace the old one I had because a battery exploded inside of it. This fits the bill and works flawlessly.

I use a couple of SB-800s for off camera flash, and I have to rely on them firing and not missing a shot. So the SD-800 gives me that confidence.

I had a SB-800 in the past with the SD-800 on it to use with my first D200 with a 17-55mm lens, and it was a super combination, providing extremely fast shooting. As I said, "I had", they were stolen, not likely to return. So 5+ years later, I have been trying to get back to where I was (the theft really deflated my camera thoughts and drive), and I have been replacing all of the equipment as I can afford to (retirement limits me a lot financially). The SD-800 extra battery really makes a difference, and I wouldn't want to use the MB-800 flash without it. It is definitely a 5 Star item!

Boosts recycle time for SB-800 only. The extra battery does not make it any brighter, but it makes the recycle time quite a bit faster. I have worn out a couple of these, and broke the plastic catch on another. It could be more durable, but it's well worth the price.

Well, it's no mystery to add extra battery to my SB800 flash. I somehow misplaced the original battery holder and found out there is the replacement holder available to purchase.

I had allowed the contacts on one of my 3 Nikon SB-800 original battery holders to corrode after many years' use so I ordered a couple of these as replacements. I was relieved when I received them as they're indistinguishable from the original which makes sense since they come from Nikon. Same quality, same feel, good value for the price and Adorama got them to me quickly as is the case with all other orders I've placed with them. Mounting is not difficult but takes perhaps a minute to master if one has not used this before--a simple push-slide maneuver. If I acquire additional SB-800s and need more battery holders I would not hesitate to order again.

Fifth battery for SB800 does not increase flash power, but recycles flash much quicker than with 4 batteries.

I'm delighted with this small add on to my SB 800. It allows me to add the extra battery needed for quick refresh and longer periods without having to worry about running out of power when I not using additional battery power.

Makes a big difference in recycling time - as long as the batteries are fully charged!

I have a Quantum I battery with module for an old Minolta flash. I use it now with my Nikon SB800. The SD800 is now customized to hold the module in place. Looks neater than Quantum's SB800 module for a small fraction of the price.

I use them on all 3 of my SB-800 units. If it was possible to mount two of these on one flash, I would buy more! Best if you want to make the flash recycle faster, and of course take a more photos.

Adds a fifth battery to shorten recycle time to as little as 2.9 seconds on full power manual. The SD-800 Quick Recycling Battery Pack allows for the added use of a fifth AA battery to the SB-800 Speedlight. The SB-800 is designed to operate on 6v of power, which is the output of four alkaline batteries. Because Ni-Mh batteries have a lower voltage, five are required to deliver the ideal voltage to the flash.
