I bought this unit to use for taping long events and so far it's been great. Easy to use. AVI quality is perfect. The editing computer recognizes the unit as a hard drive easily and quickly. I did have a problem with the battery and [...] sent me a new one quickly. They have great service. One thing...the 8 second pre-record feature does not work when the unit is in the time code mode(triggered by the pressing the camera rec/pause button). It only works when you manually start the QC120 recording. The user manual was a bit confusing until I played around with the unit a bit.
