I found this fluorescent daylight balanced light head to be adequate for my needs. I did not wish to invest a large amount of money for this type lighting source because of the infrequent usage. I use it as a teaching aid to allow student to see how to light the subject in real time. With flash lighting is difficult to see the results of lamp placement even with modeling lights until after the fact. It's great for a temporary setup outside the studio. I changed the lights to 40 watt, daylight balanced, fluorescent bulbs for more light output and it works fine.

This cold light source was an instant success. It is balanced to 5000 kelvin and is ideal for use with Digital cameras for portraits and product photography. An included softbox type cover enhances your results.
