I purchased a Panasonic DVD-S500 not knowing I would not be able to use it with HDMI. This was not evident at purchase. Now, I'm out my purchase price. Very upset.

I have only had this Panasonic DVD player for a couple of weeks or so and can only comment on my satisfaction thus far. This Panasonic replaced a BluRay player that worked fine but would not play DVD-R recorded programs. I have two TVs and wanted a DVD player for each. I own a different non-BluRay player (with HDMI) which has been fine but the remote has been frustrating to operate. Though I miss the HDMI capability on this Panasonic player, (a feature I could have opted for, for another ($) but due to financial constraints bought this one), this player has been great. Btw, anyone can set it up--it is THAT easy. Of most importance is the fact that I have rheumatoid arthritis (bad in my hands) so buttons whether on the player or the remote are important to me. The buttons on the front of this player itself are easy to work with. The remote has also been easy. I wish more companies would make physically user-friendly players, remotes and electronics with that in mind as Panasonic has done. This player was quality and affordable.

This DVD player is a good value. Easy to use and light. I usually purchase Panasonic products because they last and are of good quality.
