I own the S1H now for about 7 months and I absolutely love this camera. It's the best hands down cinema professional camera I've used in awhile. If the auto focus was just a little better this camera would be untouchable. And all its missing is a 12 bit rate.

This camera feels like it was built for my (rather large) hands. The ergonomics are nearly perfect and shooting is such a joy.

I moved up to this from the GH5 and couldn't be happier with my decision. This has already taken my photo and video to another level.

Love this camera for run & gun filmmaking! With adapters you can use Leica M lenses for a lighter and more compact setup. Auto focus does not work well for video, but I love that I can turn the function dial between video shots and quickly grab some high quality stills, then go back to shooting video. Invaluable for a recent documentary filmmaking trip I took to Nepal, where everything was fast paced and I wanted to capture video and stills.

I travel and hike a lot, and I need to be able to carry everything myself – tripod, camera, lenses, etc., as well as extra clothes, food and water, and first aid kit, and sometime a toddler. I do whatever I can to keep everything small or lightweight (obviously not the toddler). Coming from a Canon C100/Ninja Star (shooting ProRes) and an Oly E-M5 III for stills – both of which I dearly loved, and they loved me – I am thrilled by the image quality and feature set packed into the S1H. It doesn’t make for a ultra-lightweight kit, but it’s a good option for those who primarily shoot video but also need a very good stills camera. Some of the features that won me over are: heck’a’lotta internal and external bit rate and codec options, incl. 4K/5.9K ProRes RAW output to a Ninja V; 96MP high resolution mode to shoot still subjects like artwork and non-moving landscapes; ability to customize every button, wheel, and knob to my liking and to save multiple custom modes depending on use scenario; weather sealed body (I’ve taken it out in rain, sleet, and snow); high ISO with low noise; (relatively) lightweight and compact body size; and unlimited recording. My only complaint as a former C100 user is the S1H’s lack of internal ND filters. I ended up purchasing a set of three Formatt Hitech 100x100mm NDs and a Lucroit filter holder on clearance. Wasn’t originally part of my ideal setup – more money, more weight – but I see it as a useful final addition to my S1H/Ninja V combo. Nighttime snow storm, yes please. Ten mile hike, yup. Keeping up with a 15-month old running around the house, sure thing.

All thing s considered this is the best camera I have owned, and I have owned many. It's not perfect but it is reliable, especially for time lapse and video clips. Does fine for stills as well.

At first I was pretty disappointed with Adorama and Panasonic. It took a week to receive the camera which should have took two days at the most. Then when I received the camera it had a faulty joy stick which only worked in one direction.(poor quality control Panasonic). After receiving my replacement the following week I tested the camera to make sure it worked properly and it does. Now let’s talk cameras. The camera is a best when it comes to video. Which is the reason I purchased it. I’m not interested in autofocus or stills so I won’t speak on that. The dynamic range and color science is top notch, especially in an aces workflow. The battery life great considering all of the features of this camera. For video I honestly believe it’s unparalleled in the mirrorless market right now and I’m a Sony fanboy. There are some issues that Panasonic need to take care. like all-I codec.I’m waiting to see if Panasonic and Atomos fulfill the promise of raw

This camera is amazing. If you're on the fence about this then jump. I have been a sony user since the a7s1 and currently own two a7iii with a bunch of sony lenses. Also, I own a fuji xt3 with a bunch of its lenses as well and this was hard for me to want to pick up another system with lenses. I love the colors of fuji and now I love the skin colors with panasonic. Full frame is great and having the ability to go 4k60p 10bit is a plus. AFC is "okay" but manageable for a live event/wedding videographer. I mostly shoot videos. I would recommend this camera for anyone debating to go FF from their GH5 or planning on future proofing your gear. I think its $ price tag is fair considering it being a hybrid cinema camera and not needing additional gear to make it work.

"If you’re used to using any pro-level camera, you’ll understand the S1H immediately. Getting introduced to something this small and compact, I thought I was going to be facing a lot of challenges, but it has pro features like SDI timecode, full-size HDMI, it writes to small SD cards, and it’s super easy to use. The custom functions on the camera I think are the best way to set it up to your liking. Panasonic really thought about everything they put into this camera. "
Today, Panasonic has added two new exciting products to its growing Lumix series. First, the S1H mirrorless camera packs the video recording abilities of a professional cinema camera into a hand-held mirrorless frame. Second, the Lumix S Pro 24-70mm f/2.8 L-mount lens offers high resolution and high contrast throughout the focal range, as well as a beautiful bokeh effect and powerful optical performance...READ MORE
Responding to the demanding requirements of photographers, videographers, and cinematographers today, the full-frame LUMIX S1H mirrorless camera offers an outstanding combination of image quality, functionality, and usability.

Segment File Recording records video as 1-minute segments, with preventing the loss of whole data. Loop Recording deletes old data while recording without worrying about card capacity.
For 8-bit, 0-255 / 16-235 / 16-255 are selectable. For 10-bit, 0-1023 / 64-940 / 64-1023 are selectable.
A subject can be selected with the frame and its luminance displayed as a percentage. When recording in V-Log, the camera displays luminance in stops.
Luminance, or chroma color balance can be displayed during recording.
As a new feature, the LUMIX S1H can display two zebra patterns at once, allowing the user to set a luminance range. This function can be used to warn the user of blown-out highlights.
The standard black level for the video can be adjusted.
This function fine-tunes the shutter speed to minimize the flickering of fluorescent lights, televisions, computer monitors, etc.
The newly developed high-resolution 1.8-inch status LCD presents optimal information for still photography or videography. Time code and audio information can be customized with switchable black or white backgrounds.
The large Real View Finder boasts outstanding resolution of 5.76 million dots. The responsive OLED display offers an extremely low 0.005-second minimum lag time and an ultra-high 120 fps refresh rate.
When shooting dark scenes like starry skies, this mode suppresses the stimulation of eyes that have become accustomed to the dark. The LVF and rear monitor can be set separately.
Either STANDARD or LOW may be selected. LOW reduces gain level in loud environments (-12 dB).
The sound input level can be adjusted in 32 levels (-18 dB to +12 dB or mute).
The display is brightened by lowering the frame rate and increasing the gain. This lets you shoot while framing, even in extremely dark situations.
The buttons are illuminated to enable accurate operation in the dark.
The joystick moves freely in eight directions, allowing you to intuitively select the focus area with just your thumb.
All buttons, dials, and cursors are fully customizable, allowing users to create a personalized control system.
A versatile and durable HDMI Type A terminal is provided. A bundled cable lock holder also prevents unplugging problems on location.
With the bundled BNC conversion cable, users can synchronize the time code of the LUMIX S1H with that of an external device.
LUMIX S1H features a Φ3.5mm MIC Jack and Φ3.5mm Headphone Jack. LINE input is also supported by the 3.5mm MIC Jack, making it possible to input sounds from an external audio device.
Super-fast sensor-lens communication of 480 fps and Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology help make high-speed, high-precision autofocus of approximately 0.08 seconds a reality.
Capture eight consecutive images automatically with Body I.S. (Image Stabilizer) and high-speed processing Venus Engine for 96-megapixel equivalent (12,000 x 8,000-pixel) RAW file.
