Shopper : Is there an issue hooking up hdmi cables. Possibly needing 270 degree adapters for wall mounting tv?STEPHEN G : I am wall mounted in a very tight space. I am running off a receiver so I only needed one HDMI cable. Not easy to get in, but once in there is no need to access again.SAM T W : I did not use wall mount. However, TV is designed to hook up anyway you like with no problems.BEN B : I couldn't say, we don't have it mounted on the wall. It doesn't appear that you would have any trouble though...CHARLES R : To be honest, I didn't know what a 270 degree hdmi adapter was until I looked it up after reading your post. I currently have two hdmi cables connected to it via left side of the tv (while its facing you). No issues at all and I am using MediaBridge hdmi's and television is mounted on a Cheetah full swivel tv mount. The adapters may help but my setup doesn't call for it at the moment. Hope this helps. DELL G : I installed did a fairly flush mounted installation with my tv and there was no need for the 90 degree cables or adapters. Hope this helps.MARY A : We didn't use a wall mount. Sorry. There was no problem hooking up the hdmi cables - as we just sat the tv on an appropriately sized wooden table. We had considered wall mounting it because we had an awful time finding an appropriately sized wooden table to set it on. What we finally bought was at an unfinished wood furniture store. I've forgotten what you call it, but it's the kind of piece of furniture that some people put at the foot of their bed. It was exactly the right height we wanted,exactly the right width from wall into the room, and just an inch or so wider than the screen size side to side. By the way, we are VERY pleased with the tv!BRENT J : The HDMI inputs on the 55" VT50 are on the left side of the TV, and they are 3.5" in from the left edge of the unit. I have mine wall-mounted, and I use standard HDMI cables. The 3.5" is enough for the cables to curve from horizontal (at the HDMI inputs) to vertical to run behind the TV. The cables do not show from the front.
Shopper : i have the 65 VT50 is it normal to hear the fans? if the sound turn down,are mute about 8 feet awayANDREW R : This unit does have cooling fans that may operate regularly. Room acoustics may affect how well you can hear them.

Rich, accurate color & fine-tuning

We owned a Panasonic GT30 prior to this VT50, and were very happy with the GT (until the panel went after less than 2 years). We received the VT50 from Adorama within 2 days and the delivery service was excellent (calling before delivery and allowing an inspection of the TV for damages before leaving). Out of the box, I was initially unhappy with the picture, but after some calibrations (as per CNET's guide), I was blown away at the deep black levels and excellent skin tones. The "standard" setting on the GT30 was our go-to TV watching setting, but "standard" on the VT50 is very dull & low contrast, despite adjustments to brightness and contrast. We've been using "custom" exclusively, and have only had to make minor tweaks when playing ps3 or watching darker movies, etc... I'm not a fan of the stand (plastic) or the bezel (tacky fake chrome border) but I mounted the TV and forgot all about the border after a couple days. I haven't used the Viera features, as I have Apple TV for Netflix, etc... but the picture is so great, the VT50 gets 5 stars for this alone. Also, Adorama had the best price anywhere, and shipped very quickly.

better than looking at real life

easy to hang on wall,the TV is directly across from a mirror,zero glare.Lots of picture settings.The delivery guy even set up the TV and put it on the stand!!

Nice product

Very nice picture quality and design. Webbrowser in this tv is very bad and not really usefull, but other than that it is very good. Netflix/you tube/picasa photo album is very good
