Shopper : WILL THIS UNIT WORK ON A NIKON D1X SLR CAMERA?MARLIN C : I would almost think it would work on any Nikon DSLR. The adapter rings go according to the mm of the lens ring. The only thing that makes the difference is the shoe that goes into the flash. It's also nice because it has a couple modes to where you can use it as a flash or turn the light on and it stays on so you can see shadows or not. I'm really glad I bought it. Since then I bought a macro lens and the adaptors that came with it won't fit my macro so I'm going to buy anorexic adaptor. It was a good buy.AMEDEO C : Yes it will. Totally depended on the lens you are using.
I do not recommend using it on wide angle lenses as the unit will be visible in the image area.
Hope that helpsGUSTAVO R : I do not have that camera ,but it should workSALVATORE M : I am not familiar with the Nikon D1X. I use mine on a Nikon D70 and I get excellent resultsl with itJIM H : I actually bought this for my son who has two Nikons. So I don't have first hand knowledge of it's use. However, that said, he wanted it for lenses that had 52mm and 67mm rings. It's my understanding that it worked well for him. I'm not familiar with the D1X but I would check the filter size and compare it.JAMES S : It works fine on my Nikon D90, so I'd expect it would work on any Nikon digial SLR. I use it for closeups--flowers, for example.TORREY M : I use it on a D3s. Hope that helps. If you have a hot shoe I do not see why not.P. DAVID A : The ring flash needs a hot shot connection so it should work.DAVID C : I don't know, but it should. It works great on a D90 and D7000.ORVILLE S : The hot shoe mount piece works well on my D700 and triggers the flash when it should. The lens attachments appear to cover most of the lenses I would use with a ring flash. I've only used it a little so far, but so far it's done everything I've asked it to do.
I am not familiar with the D1X camera, but if it has a standard Nikon hot shoe, then I think that this ring flash system would work on that camera as well. If not, then no it wouldn't.RON P : The Polaroid Ring Flash has adaptors for the lense sizes that you are asking about: 52/55/58/62/67/72/77 mmGLENN K : shouldn't be a problem - just used it on my D700 - one element into the hot shoe, the light around your lens...
Shopper : can I use this out of the box with my d5000?AMEDEO C : Hello
This unit will work on a D5000 no problem. The only draw back is not to use it on wide angle lenses as your rectangular picture frame will now become round as the light ring will show up in your image area. Keep your focal length at 60mm or longer especially if you are using the 72mm and or 77mm adapter. Overall the unit works as design for the price. You'll need to adjust your exposure manually to get the desired results. For the price it is a inexpensive solution.
Hope that helps.JIM H : I didn't actually buy this for myself, I bought it for my son. However, the things you need to have this work for you is a hot shoe and a filter size that matches those listed (52/55/58/62/67/72/77)
I should add that my son is happy with this equipment.JAMES S : It did with my Nikon D90, so I expect it would.MARIA T : I'm not sure about a D5000 (didn't know Nikon made that one) however it will fit the D3100, D5100 and D7000.
I have a D5100 and it works great. I'm glad I went with the LED and not the flash. Enjoy your toyGUSTAVO R : yes along you can attach it to the front of the lensSALVATORE M : Yes you can. I use a Nikon D70 and with a few practice shots you can
easily find the light adjustment. I am a dentist and I am well pleased
with this ring flash. I certainly would reccomend this for close up photography.CHARLES G : Yes. I used it right out of the box on my D7000. The only problem I ran into was that the unit does not sync with the TTL system on my camera. A quick fix is to turn it on as a light and then use the TTL metering on the camera. Using it in that fashion, I've been extremely successful using this unit for extreme macro photography.
Another fix is to put the camera on manual mode, take a couple of practice shots to fine tune the exposure, and then use the unit on flash mode.
A little trouble, but for the money, you can't beat it.
Maureen H : will this fit on a canon 60 d?JAMES S : The Polaroid ring light works well with my Nikon D90, so I think it's likely that it would work with any comparable digital SLR, such as the Canon 60D. The important thing is to order one that is the same diameter as the lens you're using. It's available in a variety of them.JOHNNY L : sorry i do not know, I own a NikonSOUMEN P : I am a Nikon user. With Nikon D5100 it is working good. No idea about canon. Respective tech person may ans this.
Good Luck. Keep shooting...TORREY M : Mine fits based on filter size and it came with 6 adaptors. I use a Nikon but do not see why not.LYNETTE B : No, this is the Nikon version. You should be looking at this one: http://www.adorama.com/PDPLMRFC.html
As for specific fit, it depends more on the lens size than the type of camera.CHRISTOPHER D : They make one specifically for Canon. The part number, when ordering, ends with either an N or a C. The one that ends with C is for Canon.
