Poor quality from Photoflex

I have been a long time user of Photoflex stands and was very unhappy with this so called heavy duty unit. I had to repair one stand the other worked rough not to mention the case was damaged. When I contacted Photoflex they wanted me to pay to ship the case back to get it replaced, the damaged $5.00 case, first I had one of my photographers take photos of the damage at their request but they wanted me to pay shipping for the return [...], so I just won't buy anymore Photoflex products. Good Product

Easy to set up, pack, and carry. It may not withstand horrid abuse but many won't. Good value.

Top Notch

By

I purchased this for our quilt guild as a quilt stand. It is much sturdier than the items marketed as "quilt stands". It is easy to set up, the cross bar is sturdy enough to hold a king size quilt with little to no bowing. Highly recommend this to any quilter looking for a QUALITY quilt stand.

Decent support kit

I generally like these stands - for some reason one of the screw fittings on one of the stands was loose - so when I tried to tighten it up - the fitting came out.

Convenient and Sturdy

By

Telescoping cross bar provides greater flexibility than multi-piece bars. Strong support stands easily hold a 10 x 20 background.

sturdy

feels really secure with the 9-10 ft. heavy seamless backgrounds. i would have given a rating of 5 stars, but one of the stands arrived jammed and we had to bonk it with a hammer to make it work.

It just works, for what it is

By

from Ft Wayne, Indiana  -  Semi-pro Photographer

You get what you pay for. This version is better than most. If you want to hang just a lightweight muslin this would work fine. But if you have several, the more weight you have on top the less stable it would become. This is simple laws of physics. In my studio I hang my back drops form an over head structural beam, mounting system. Nothing to trip over etc... But this product is fine for portable product shots, making it flexible in my work flow. Takes just minutes to set up and just as easy to put away. The extra height is great. This means when you extend it to 9' or so there is still plenty of tube, so it is not fully extended to its limits, which makes it more stiff. Just what you want

Not Bad....

Very sturdy construction. Would have been nice if the stands were air cushioned.

better than i expected

By

from los angeles, ca  -  Photo Enthusiast

i was actually looking at the manfrotto backdrop stand but decided to go the profoto mainly because it could expand a taller and wider. heavy duty light stands can support a roll of seamless paper. great quality for a portable studio.

This Backdrop is as solid as a rock. It folds down nice and is very easy to setup. Very nice worth every penny!

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Michelle D  Do the upright sections secure with levers or thumbscrews. It is hard to tell from the pictures?
GERALD E  It secures with thumbscrews.
Shopper  Can this hold up a canvas backdrop without falling?
ALEX N  I've used the support system with Denny Mfg.'s FreedomCloth, Poly Cloth and muslin but not canvas. The bar telescopes with 3 segments and sags a bit when fully extended but my twist lock system bars sag also. The Photoflex system meets my needs - I'm considering purchasing a second one.
Shopper  Can this hold a cloth back drop that is 12 feet wide?
CLAY B  I have spread my unit to accommodate a 12" back drop cloth with no problems. The top bar expands to 12.6". Hope that helps. Clay
