Light and very strurdy

I was looking for a light, portable, stable & sturdy Backdrop support that would be easy and fast to setup, breakdown and transport. This support is perfect for all above reasons. I was looking for a light, portable, stable & sturdy Backdrop support that would be easy and fast to setup, breakdown and transport. This support is perfect for all above reasons. It fits very nicely into the included Nylon Bag. The Bag is usually where some manufacturers cut corners but Photoflex includes a very nice and sturdy Case that should last a good long while. Someone said the Crossbar doesn't lock onto the support Poles, it does with good size Wing Nuts. This is a very stable, easy and fast system to setup. All locking mechanisms are built very sturdy and large Wing Nuts make it a breeze to quickly get things setup and ready for any shoot, whether in Studio or on location. The Crossbar is very sturdy and will handle allot of weight so hanging thick Backdrops or multiple Backdrops for a pleated look will not be a problem for this Stand to hold up. The support Stands are very stable with large diameter, sturdy telescoping Poles and nice wide Legs. For the price you get allot of high quality features only seen in much more expensive and much heavier Stands. If you do allot of location work and need Light weight, small Footprint portability as well as easy, fast setup then look no further.

Backdrop Support Kit

Great Price. First time user of this backdrop support. Have used others in the past most of which were heavy and bulky. This backdrop for its size is extrememly light weight. I will see over time how it will stand up for freelancing and location photography.

Seems kind of sketchy.

The screws click occasionally and make me nervous that they are going to lose their thread and break. I'm keeping my warranty close by just in case.

I use this for my home studio. I recommend this for the person who is just starting out with portraits and needs backdrops or anyone that wants a quick, easy and real sturdy travel kit for the right price.

Very sturdy!

Use the product to support seamless paper. Strong, and love the telescoping crossbar. Wish it had air cushioned stands, but small price to pay for a nice sturdy backdrop stand.

Sturdy, solid construction

By

This backdrop stand is perfect for my in-home studio needs. My studio is small (only 15-30 feet) It was quite simple to set up and is just as easy to take down. Came in a very sturdy canvas bag. (unfortunately, one of my zippers was busted, but that's an isolated incident and the other one works, so no harm done). The stands are sturdy. I own many other Photoflex products and as usual, I am very happy with this one as well. For the price, I would recommend it. I would imagine that it would not fare as well though, in a large commercial studio.

Solid for indoor use

This setup comes with a nice carrying case. I would have like to have some room in the case for a roll of paper as well. If you leave the case unzipped you can place the roll on top and manage to carry everything. Performs well.

Great for on location shoots

Travels well. Comes with a nice bag - don't expect to to have room for a roll of paper or other backgrounds. Also the unit is easily adjustable. A solid choice for indoor use.

Excellent Product.

This backdrop stand is easy to use. Just extend the feet, extend the crossbar to the desired length, place crossbar onto the stand, extend poles to height ensuring that the crossbar is parallel to the ground. You may need help to extend the poles simultaneously. Otherwise extend the poles and then place crossbar after.

Good value

I got this for a portable unit to take on location shoots. It has worked very well in this respect. I frequently hang a 10 foot x 20 foot diamond cloth backdrop off of it and have had no problem. For those that haven't used them, Diamond cloth is not light, especially at that size. If you are going to use it everyday in a studio, you might want to get a heavier duty stand but for occasional, or portable use, this unit works fine.

Easy to use and sturdy

This stand will hold up for a long time. A bit heavy due to solid construction but it's still easy to set up and move around or adjust.

An excellent product for the price.

Excellent product for a person like myself, new to photography and wanting to improve my skills just for the fun of the hobby. Setup was easy to figure out, and the product did not feel cheap or flimsy at all. For the price, it is well built and a very good value. I requested this kit for Christmas, and I'm glad I did.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  What is the minimum height for the bar? Will I be able to clamp a 10ft x 10ft vinyl backdrop? What type of clamps can you recommend for this?
ERIC B  I never measured the minimum height, but it has to be less than 5 feet. Your 10X10 should have plenty of floor coverage if that's your concern. I use those black plastic spring clamps that they sell by the bag at Lowes or Home Depot for 12 or 15 bucks on muslin, I'm sure they'll work fine on the vinyl.
Hector V  I have this set and its great but I need to replace the tiny screw that holds the top bar side in tack. Where would I be able to buy a replacement screw?
OUTREACH MINIST C  Lowes.
Shopper  I bought this unit, used it outside (works great! I love it) but I can't seems to get the legs to collapse small enough to fit back in the bag? Help?
CASEY P  Make sure you slide the part with the screw that controls the legs up the main shaft. The legs should fit into the bars that connect to the middle of the legs.
