About Photoflex

Photoflex® adjustable reflective Umbrellas were already the most versatile photographic umbrellas available today; and now they're even better. The new andimproved umbrella line includes ribs and strut pivots that are now made from a fiberglass composite, which is not only stronger, but also offers better resiliency and durability than steel or aluminum.
This new design feature allows for almost carefree handling, all but eliminatingdamage caused from over bending delicate steel tube ribs. All umbrella center poles are extruded and closed off at the base (vs. folded, hollow tubes, like many other umbrellas, that are easily bent and dented) adding to the durability of the Photoflex® umbrella model.
The RUT 60" White Convertible Umbrella converts from a bounce umbrella to a "shoot through" umbrella, which produces soft light.
Get the best of both shooting styles in one umbrella. This 60" umbrella is greatfor 3/4 length and full body portraits. Can be used for strobe or hot lights. Also available in 30"

Umbrellas have a 3 year warranty.

Best way to get low cost soft light!

If you are a beginner (or a pro for that matter) by all means skip the smaller umbrellas (unless you work in small spaces or do headshots with them). This is the tool to get. Keep it within 5 feet of your subject and use your flash barebulb and you can get light quality as soft as a softbox. Yes I said that! This tool makes it easy... and cost effective! At this size 5ft away this will cover a full body pretty well.[...]

Great Umbrella, Price worth it!

from Tempe, AZ  -  Pro Photographer

I use this for product photography as well as portraits. I looked at the 43" and everyone said they wished they had the 60" and even though it's HUGE I am so glad I got the bigger size!! It is a short process to change the black side to all white, but it's only a minute or two. I usually keep the cover off since I don't want to store it with the cover back on and take it off later. My shots looks so great!

Shoot through softens highlights

from Albuquerque, NM  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have a convertible Photoflex umbrella, but this is my first shoot through. The shoot through capability helps minimize unwanted highlights, by softening the flash output. I wish I had found this earlier, to avoid post-processing to remove highlights.

Great Value and Quality

I was very impressed with the build quality and the low price make these even more desirable. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Fiberglass rods are very innovative

from Salt Lake City, Utah  -  Photo Enthusiast

I really like the idea of the fiberglass rods they seem like they will hold up alot longer than the metal ones. The build quality of this umbrella is superb. I look forward to putting it through the paces.

Nice big spread with multipurpose

from Jasper, Alabama  -  Pro Photographer

This works out very well to spread light across a large group. I used it for family portraits at an 80th Birthday party. I was hired to do the large family portrait but ended up doing several smaller groups as well. It did well with my stobe lights for both the large and the smaller groups. ai really like the way it can also be converted to a shoot through umbrella for those shots you want some softer lighting!
