Works perfectly

Been using this since May every week. It fits perfectly, I'm not sure why the other reviewer said it did not, I can only assume he received a defective or incorrect item. With the grip it allows me to keep my elbow down while shooting, which has helped with an injury that keeps occurring while shooting longer than half an hour. I love that I can access all buttons shooting vertically also. Best accessory I've purchased yet.

Fair results not totally compatible

I purchased this for a Nikon D7100 and when I tried to attach it to the camera it did not fit properly. When I tried to open the battery door and insert a battery I had a hard time opening it up again. When I did finally get it attached and ready to work it was very slow. Overall I was not satisfied with this 3rd party product and sent it back.

Not worth your time

By

I've been happy with other phottix products and hoped this could save me some money. The controls didn't work right out of the box. Really a waste of my time and extra money to return. I ended up buying a used Nikon grip for reliability (they seem to last forever).

Almost bought the Phottix...

By

After doing a side by side comparison with the Nikon MB-D11 I decide to go with the Nikon instead. The MB-D11 simply felt more solid in my hand and not flimsy like the Phottix. The wheel to secure the grip to the camera was smooth and did not jiggle up and down like on the Phottix. The shutter release button and the latch to open the batter tray was also noticeable solid and had a better quality feel to is as well. Yeah I could have gone with the Phottix and save a couple hundred bucks but in the end I just felt that the Nikon version was going to last much longer.

great alternative

The grip is as identical to the nikon version as it could be, it works just like it should and it matches the finish of my D7000 perfectly. I don't like that you must remove the grip to access the main body's battery, but it is that way for all brands, including Nikon's. Just a design flaw I suppose, but other than that, perfection.
