I used this rip only twice and it seemed to work okay but now it doesn't work at all. Even with two fully charged batteries it says the batteries are dead and wont turn on. I have to fully disconnect it from my camera and then it will turn on and show the batteries as fully charged. It also seemed to drain the battery super fast, like within a day both batteries would be dead when without the grip just one battery lasts a number of days. Would not reccomend. Very unreliable.
I was taking a chance by not buying the OEM grip and it has paid off. This grip works well with my D610. I had a cheap one also for my D7000 and this one to me is a much better built grip. You would not know it was made of plastic on my camera body. It feels sold and works just like an OEM grip.
I bought this battery pack because I had a good experience with the Photix flash unit for my Nikon D600. I wasn't disappointed. At one half the cost of a battery pack from Nikon it wasn't a hard decision to make. The battery pack fits perfectly to my camera. All of the dials function well. The mlultiselector on the battery pack used for paging through the photos on the camera LCD is small and touchy. Sometimes it gives the user a function menu instead of a photo. I find this to be a small problem. The multiselector on the camera body is easily accessible so I use it. With the battery pack in place I now can shoot in the vertical position comfortably without twisting my hand uncomfortably. The battery pack comes with two battery holders one for the EN-El-15 batttery and the other for four AAA batteries. The trays for the batteries insert easily and securely into the holder. Overall I feel that this battery pack is a good one for the money.
