The quality is nice. I order a 45'' to replace my 40" however when I opened the 45"is significantly smaller than my old 40"

I purchased two of these for a job. They aren't made well. One of the caps on the tip broke off and cannot be reattached. This happened the first time I used it. When bouncing light off the inside, the black (back side) has a magenta cast to it. This doesn't seem to effect color, but it does look pretty cheap. The center rods are hollow, and will be covered with screw marks after a few uses. Buy these only if you will use them very seldom. This is not the quality I would expect from Photogenic.

I wanted to learn to light portraits both indoors and outdoors. The UW45 allows me to have the versatility of a shoot through with the option of a bounce via use of the removable black cover. It is a good value for my purposes.

I bought this along with the 43" Westcott model. I didn't realize that this was going to be so long when it was folded up. I guess I should pay more attention. Anyway, it's not a deal breaker. I just won't be dragging it along on location shoots unless I really need it. It will stay with the studio equipment for now. :)

Very nice umbrella. It has an outer ribs - which makes it perfect when you bounce light from the umbrella - you don't see the ribs in reflections. It looks like ribs could be made stronger, but so far I had no problem with construction.

Photogenic umbrellas are constructed of custom color-neutral photographic material. The US series is silver with a black light-blocking cover, and reflects a harder light than the white-interior UW umbrellas. The US45 umbrella measures 45" over its curve. The exposed-rib construction provides an economicalapproach to umbrella lighting. The black cover is removable.
