Not what I thought

I bought this hoping for good picture quality, the picture quality is very poor. If your concerned with the quality of your photograph's? this is not the product for you, you might wan't to bight the bullet a pay the money for a really good one or buy that bigger lens. The clarity is very poor with this product.

Disappointed

This item was for the wife and it did not live up to our Expectations It would Not focus no matter what we did except on short focal lengths. And yes we did use a tripod and monopod

Not quite what I expected!

I had been interested in trying a converter versus buying the big glass, but with the continual soft focus issue using this item, I think that I will just invest in a bigger lens.

Save your money

Have tried using this item for bird photography in a variety of lighting conditions. Does not auto focus well at all under the best of conditions, and have yet to obtain even one sharp photo. Under less than ideal conditions, shutter will not even operate.

Great Converter for the price

I will use this as a light weight addition to my field pack to augment the 18-200mm zoom for wild flower and wildlife work and to fill the gap between my 600-1200mm manual zoom. Also this will give me that little extra magnification when I don't feel like packing everything to a remote location. With this converter auto focus works in good lighting conditions and going manual is not an issue for me on focus since most of my work is manual focus anyway.

Very good performance, awesome price!

This is as good as any 2x aftermarket TC. I have used it on a Nikon 300 f/4 taking pictures of Eagles and it still handled AF at a wide open aperture. It is less sharp and the contrast and saturation is reduced, though acceptable. The only TC that I have used that is sharper is the Nikon, but it is dimmer. I wouldn't use it for Macro photography as the contrast would be a bit weak. Otherwise it is a great bargain!

Does the Job

This item is lightweight and easy to use. Only had it for two weeks, need some more practice. Pictures are not as sharp as hoped. But not using tripod.

About ProOPTIC 2x Tele-Converter for Nikon AutoFocus SLR

Placed between the camera body and lens, a teleconverter contains a set of optics that will effectively increase the focal length of a lens by a factor of 2x . Pro Optic converters are made with high quality multi coated optics and designed to electronically operate with the camera contacts. Designed specifically to be used with prime or zoom lenses of 100mm or above. 2x will increase a 300mm into 600 mm and will decrease the lens with 2 f/stop. Focusing manually is recommended when using a lens with a f/stop of f4 or slower. Longer exposures will require a tripod for stabilization
