AC7 Use

The AC7 shield works great with a Quantum battery cable. Just spread it open and pop the flash & cable into it. I now have several AC7s. They protect the flash if the wind blows your light stand over and if you have to send your flash through baggage "handling". Umbrella location centralization with the AC7 is also a plus.

Don't buy if you use the Canon Battery P

It's taken Pocket Wizard almost two years to come out with the AC7 shield and they got it wrong again. The cutout on the bottom half of the unit was supposed to fit Canon battery packs. Well they missed by about a half inch. The battery pack cord will not fit and Pocket Wizard tells me over the phone "We don't know what that cut out is for?" An adapter is months away. Yeah right.... Don't waste your money unless you don't use a battery pack, most pros do...

About PocketWizard AC7

The PocketWizard AC7 HardShield is designed to be used with the Canon 580EX and 580EXII flash units. It shields the FleXTT5 from operation-limiting RF noise generated by these flashes. It provides full access to all flash controls.

Reinforced 1/4-20 threaded attachment points and included umbrella holder make the AC7 a perfect flash holder when using light-stand mounted umbrellas or softboxes.

The AC7 design allows use of various flash-head mounted light modifiers and is excellent for use with a lightstick or monopod.
