These binos are well made with high quality optics. Views are bright. My only complaint is that right eye focus is very tight and hard to adjust. At 12X50 these are difficult to hold steady for long periods. A tripod/monopod mount is required for astronomy use.

This excels at backyard astronomy when I am laying back in a lawn chair or if they are mounted on a tripod. They are a good alternative when I don't feel like dragging out my 20X80's and setting up the parallelogram mount. The very slow focus allows for precise focusing on extraterrestrial sights. The image is extremely sharp to the edge of the field, more so than any of my four other binos. The 12X magnification still allows for hand-holding for short periods of time, but serious stargazers will want to mount them. Birders, hunters and hikers might want something a little less bulky and lighter, but they are perfect for stargazing. The long eye relief makes these a joy to use when wearing eyeglasses. The optics are exquisite, and the bino is built like a Sherman tank!
