I use this product as a supplement to my pancake lens when I need a standard zoom. It does the job just fine, it does pretty well indoors, not so much in low light though. Landscapes work well, but has a short field of view. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with it I guess!

This lense was a fantastic addition to the 40mm xs lense my k-01 came with. Photos are crisp and lense locks focus quick even in low light.

Better lens than the equivalent that came with my Canon Rebel. Focus is sufficiently quick, and accurate.

This is a great starter lense, the pic's that I have taken to this point have been clear and so much more than I had expected.

I've been using Pentax cameras and lenses since 1971. They are as reliable as ever.

This is the kit lens that comes with the Pentax K10D DSLR body. No kit lens from any manufacturer is a great lens, but the Pentax is a good kit lens (and, I am given to believe, better than some other manufacturers' kit lenses). It is lightweight, quiet, easy to use, and takes decent to good pictures. It is very inexpensive, a steal if you buy it with the camera. It's a good general purpose lens

This plastic-barrel lens feels flimsy, but I like the light weight and so far have had no problems. As expected, it produces barrel distortion and some vignetting at wide angle, but I was highly pleased at the sharpness, color rendition, and bokeh. Close focusing capabilities have been a great plus for photographing wildflowers and butterflies. Auto focus is quick and accurate. One gives up a faster aperture at maximum zoom and a wider angle at minimum with this lens, but it is a lot of lens for little money.

This for the price is a bargain, yes there are better lens but at 2 or 3 times the price. One thing that is a pleasent surprise on the lens is Marco. Many zooms say Macro but are no better than 1/6th life size this one at 1/3rd with macro filters approaches Expensive real macro lens again at a bargain price.

Interesting lens that Pentax targets for "beginners," yet most of the images shot with a K10D are excellent. There is some vignetting, expecially around 18mm, but it is controlable by stopping down. The sharpness and contrast is almost as good as a professional lens for a fraction of the price. This could be the best "kit" lens sold today, and it is a steal when purchased with the camera.

This lens is all the "range of motion" that I have--but is very clear and sharp. I definitely want to add a 50-200mm lens to my kit. I have some pretty great pictures already.

From the first shots this lens has proven itself. Mounting is quick and easy. Auto features work well with the camera (Pentax K10D) and speed is good for the price. Took some great landscape photos and resolution was very good and distortion extremely minimal. Very pleased with this purchase.

Wonderful, sharp, clear lens within its light gathering capability. Use of a large flash is reccomended for indoor low light shots. Quality of the pictures are outstanding when using my Pentax K10D body with antishake enabled. The K10D antishake feature is good for an additional 2-3 f stops.
