Great little full-frame lens, better than the 40mm Limited and a strong competitor to the overrated 31mm Limited in my experience. A bit of fringing wide open.

The first copy of this lens I purchased had excessive purple fringing. I returned it and after 3 weeks decided i probably should have exchanged it instead. I purchases another new one and this copy is much better. CA with this copy is in the normal range of what I expected based on the lens reviews i read. Thank you Adorama for the great service,

Nice color, good auto focus. Purple fringing excessive in my opinion, even with lens hood, with or without cpl filter. If you don't mind adjusting purple fringing in Lightroom or other software, in most all of your photos, you will like this lens.

This lens exceeded my expectations. Clear sharp shots with quick focus. I even used it to shoot a basketball game under the basket. Perfect focal length on crop sensor.

Sharp lens even at F2. Excellent focal length on the crop sensor of my K20D. I even used this to shoot basketball under the hoop. Great results. It has replaced my 50mm 1.4 as my favorite normal prime.

I was considering the 40Ltd or the FA35... Originally I bought a 50mm f/1.4 for everyday use, but it was a bit too long due to the crop factor. I needed something fast and wide... and preferably LIGHTWEIGHT! This lens is IT! I only wish it had a nice metal body or pancake size... but it is compact enough and did I mention lightweight? It stays on my K10D 75% of the time... great for everyday use and low-light night photos!

Great lens for low-light candids with your Pentax DLSR. Remember the ubiquitous 50mm lens that came with film cameras way back in the day? This is approximately the same angle of view. With the K10D/20D/200D shake reduction system, you can shoot sharp images in incredibly low light using this lens. This lens is also very sharp and contrasty. Primes are so "retro", but be forewarned, this little gem will make your zooms look bad. For the money, you can't get a sharper "normal" lens. The bokeh can be a little lively, but not objectionable, and objects stand out from the background like they're carved out of glass. Currently the best image-quality-for-your-dollar in Pentax prime lenses.

This is a great little lens for the price giving 50 mm coverage on APS-C cameras. A great walk around lens sharp enough not to cause any worries and light enough to carry as an extra lens. Comes with a case and lens hood and even has a small door if you need to use a polariser with it, nice design. I don't think there will be too many people dissapointed with this one.

I use it in combination with a Raynox DCR-CF185Pro fisheye converter and a Pentax ist Ds digital slr. The result is a nearly full filled frame with a very high image quality for two reasons: the asperical lenselement and the small image circle! This quality is very good visible at the edges between dark and a high light (roof edges i.e). [...]
