I consider myself a digital artist but there is no denying (or resisting) the allure of relatively low-priced, high-quality vintage manual focus Takumar lens. Like me and I do commend, try a cheaper adapter if you like and see if the lens is for you. By golly if you realize you love these old pieces of glass then by all means splash out for one of these premium adapters. It works a charm on my Pentax K-30 and its definitely a keeper for me :)

I've tried generic screw mount adapters, but none of them provide as consistent and solid of a connection as the Pentax original. I've used it many times without the cross threading issues cited with third-party adapters, and it has always been easily removed from the camera without the need for tools. Simply push in the spring/clip with your finger and it rotates out of the camera mount.

I'm glad Pentax has made this adapter available again, the off-brand adapters all seem to have problems or risks of getting a lens trapped on the camera.

This is the only adapter to get for mounting M42 legacy lenses to your Pentax K digital camera. Anything else and you risk getting a product stuck on your camera. I've been using mine for years with no problems or issues. I'm going to get another one just to have one as a back up. Highly recomended.

Allows use of M42 lenses on Pentax DSLRs. I have a couple of "copies" but never felt comfortable using them. This is the real deal, at a great price.

Works perfectly. Says "Philippines" instead of the old ones that say "Japan". But is smooth and does not get stuck on the camera.

The Mount Adapter B fits Pentax bayonet mount cameras and permits screw-mount lenses to be used on them. When used with this adapter, a screw-mount (Universal Thread) lens will focus to infinity, however it cannot be used for automatic diaphragm or open aperture metering. When used on any Pentax automatic camera aperture priority camera automation is retained when using screw-mount lenses and accessories.
