Excellent Service
This was a bit of a comedy of errors but we got there in the end. Initially I received the wrong item. Return was easy and I ordered a replacement once the credit came in from Amazon. Unfortunately I ordered an RBC which looks identical to the RBA lens hood. Why Pentax make two 52mm hoods is a bit of a mystery but it maybe that one is for the all weather lens. So make sure you order exactly the right hood using the Pentax part number for your lens.
Again the return was simple and quick. I then ordered the correct hood and it arrived within the week.
It is a perfect fit and looks and works well. Pentax gear can be a little difficult to source but Adorama have a great range at good prices.
Excellent customer serve as well.

I am very pleased with the construction quality and ability to use it on both my 18-55 and 50-200 kit lenses
I don't know enough to comment on impact on image quality; however, I am very pleased with the construction quality and ability to use it on both my 18-55 and 50-200 kit lenses. Perfect, secure fit. Fits bot forward for photos and backward for storage. Does not inhibit use of lens cap. It is my understanding that this can be used instead of UV filter for protection and glare reduction without the negative impact on image quality that less expensive can cause.

Perfect partner with the DA lens
This hood works well with the Pentax DA lens. I had previously ordered a hood that was not a Pentax brand. While this hood worked fine, it attached to the lens like a lens cap does-by squeezing two tabs together and attaching to the inside of the lens. This caused such a hassle as I had to remove the hood to reattach the lens cap. However, with this Pentax hood, there is a bayonet-type attachment allowing you to attach it to the outside of the lens so you can leave the hood on and use the lens cap at the same time. When the hood isn't needed, you can reverse it and leave it attached to the lens where it is out of the way. It was a little pricier than the generic brand but well worth it.
