Pyro AV PVC950 HDMI to SDI Converter with Embedded Audio

The HDMI2SDI (PVC-950) converter bridges the consumer HDMI format to the Broadcast world by providing true 10 bit conversion of HDMI audio and video (non-HDCP) sources to HD-SDI with 48 kHz audio required for SDI video streams. Connect to camcorders and decks with HDMI output and convert to HD-SDI (SMPTE 259M-C or SMPTE 292M) with embedded audio. The HDMI2SDI converter solves Long GOP MPEG-2 editing issues by allowing ingest of HD-SDI with embedded audio into your video editing workflow. No more proxy files or software conversions required.

The HDMI2SDI accepts all SD and HDTV resolutions (EIA/CEA-861-B) as well as computer graphics displays from VGA to UXGA (1600 x 1200) (25 MHz to 165MHz pixel rates). Automatic detection and integrated color space converter with 4:4:4 to 4:2:2 down converter to meet SDI specifications. The HDMI2SDI supports up to 8 channels of audio embedded in the SDI stream and simultaneously output up to 4 channels of AES/EBU digital audio via two (2) BNC connectors (EC60958 or IEC61937).

The HDMI2SDI detects the audio and converts L-PCM at any sample rate to 48kHz sampling rate required for SDI and passes through 48 kHz compressed audio formats such as MPEG-1 Layer 2, Dolby and DTS embedded in the SDI stream. Up to 4 channels of AES/EBU digital audio can be simultaneously output over 2 BNC connectors.
