Although these aren't fancy satellite Bose speakers, they definitely do the job of providing surrounds in a 7.1 setup. Bought these after upgrading from a 5.1 to a 7.1 receiver and didn't want to spend a fortune on speakers. For the low cost I paid, they are decently built and seem pretty solid. I've read other reviews saying how cheaply these are built and that they fall apart, but I don't see that happening unless these take a hard drop to the ground. They are made out of a decent hard plastic and the front grills are metal. They have push tab speaker terminals which work well with the 16 gauge wire I used. The one downside is that these only have a spring loaded hanger tab that pulls out for mounting. I used snap ties to hang these from the frames of a drop ceiling which worked out well. There are no other mounting holes for attaching brackets, etc. These speakers aren't the most "hi-fi" speakers out there obviously, and are definitely not meant to handle bass, but for rear surrounds in a home 7.1 setup, they work great!
