Worth it; but with due awareness! :-)

The PTCDCS3UIP Classical Trumpet Horn Turntable/Phonograph is an excellent product overall. Remember this is a classic replica so if you are looking for modern full range bass to highs sound, then you need to look elsewhere. If you want and are content with standard sound in the midranges just like vintage pieces then you are in the ball park. Please note: in regards to the unit I ordered and received, the bracket that goes on the back of the unit bracing the horn did not line up with the pre-drilled holes. The screw holes in the bracket and the pre-drilled holes were pretty far off from each other; even trying to slightly reshape the bracket did not remedy the issue. I literally had to drill my own small holes in the unit to ensure the curve in the bracket gets installed flush, snug and securely around the trunk of the horn bracing the horn correctly. For this reason I do need to fairly & justly drop it one star rating from a 5 to a 4. I was disappointed at the plastic needle arm; especially for the price I paid! Yes, the arm does need to be light as to not gouge records but it is a two piece arm assembly where the trunk of the arm moves from side to side and the needle unit housing rotates up and down in order to place/remove the needle from the album as well as allowing minimal pressure on the record and allowing free movement of the needle for any albums that have slight warping. A redesign making the trunk part of the arm solid and all metal and the rotating needle unit housing plastic can still allow this yet keep perceived "cheapness" from a unit that otherwise screams vintage classic! Other than a wonderful classic unit that looks and sounds great!

I gave this to my son for Christmas and he LOVES it! He said that it is the best Christmas present that he has ever gotten. It plays all forms of music. It is fantastic! The megaphone really improves the sound of the music!

The trumpet horn is a beautiful feature making this piece a great addition to any room. The plastic needle arm and control panel on the front are disappointing though. The equipment we received was easy to assemble but the CD player did not work and the sound quality was very poor. As a display item I would be tempted to keep this, as a working piece I have seen other reproduction pieces with less issues and much better sound albeit without the horn. After much deliberation the unit was returned.
