Questions & Answers

Jhun P : How long does this last for my flash if I wer to use it on a wedding?ALEXI M : It depends on the condition of the batteries in the Quantum unit and how many pictures you are taking. I would guess with good, fully charged batteries you could expect to get 200 pictures at full flash.CHARLES M : I have used it for 3 to 4 hours shooting photos of sports teams. It was not the same amount of shots as I might have taken at a wedding, but it was upwards of 10 rolls of 36 pix each. There was no drop in cycle time and the battery never dropped below 75%. However, I did have a spare Quantum battery just in case something went wrong.DAVID Z : The entire day and then some. Lots of power.ALAN J : That has nothing to do with the cable. The cable shown simply connects a power source with an appropriate Battery I Power Pack from Quantum. If the pack is relatively new it will be close to what Quantum estimates. If the pack is more than a couple years old, a rental, or you bought it used, look out, it might not be up to full capacity even with those lights all on. Other packs are available that can use this cable like the Black Boxes, which I use.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?ERNEST L : I use a sb 800LLOYD K : I use this with my Quatum Battery-1, but wish it fit the Metz 54MZ-4 better. There should be a way to get the adapter to fit the flash unit without putting the AA cover in peril!

charging Nikon SB-24

I bought the cord to use on my SB-24 Nikon flash with a Quantum 1+ battery pack. Fits exactly like it should, I am very happy with the set-up.

Works great

This is a perfect fit for an older Minolta Program 3500 HS D flash.

Just right

Provides power from Quantum Battery 1 to my 550EX flash. Works right every time and the cord never gets in my way.

This is an excellent product

This is an excellent product. I have used and installed hundreds of these MKZ's as I use them with my product. They are well made and worth the cost. Note: I know of the problem the gentleman had with the MKZ and the slit. There is only one answer. If he had to slit the MKZ3, he didn't get an MKZ3. Someone dropped an MKZ2 on him, either a return or bought on eBay...happens a lot, I get to fix them for people. He had it's predecessor the MKZ2 which did not have the center slit for the newer SB800. It only fit the older SB series. The slit was the difference.

Good Product for SB-800

I am not sure what problems Danny had with his unit, but I have had no problems with mine. I removed the SB-800 door, slid it into the battery compartment and tightened it with included plastic device that is attached to the cord. You can't use the SB-800 door but that shouldn't matter. Great power and more consistent flash output with this cord and a +1 battery.

Not meant for SB-800 flash.

I bought this cord in order to connect my Quantum 1+ Battery to my Nikon SB-800. The battery interface does not fit in the SB-800. I had to modify mine (thus voiding warranty)by sawing slits so it can fit into the battery compartment. Modifying it was easy, but it is difficult to insert and remove from flash unit. Look into Quantum's 2x2 if you are buying this for a Nikon Flash SB-800. The good side of it is that you sav alot of money modifying it yourself. Your only modifying the cord which costs $. It can be replaced.
