About Quantum TSC

Renowned Turbo Battery power for flash now Slim, Small and Light

At the size of a 3.5" x 5" index card and weighing less than a pound, the new Quantum Turbo SC gives new meaning to convenient power. Turbo Slim Compact is so small and light that one photographer who tested it exclaimed: "I completely forgot it was there!"

The Turbo SC is compatible with all Quantum "C" and "CC-Series" flash cables. Includes removable belt clip, 100-240 volt universal charger.

Turbo Compact and Turbo 2x2 power a digital camera from one cable, and a flash through another. The proper voltage for each camera model is automatically adjusted. To power a different camera or flash, change only the cable.

Like the original Turbo Battery, the Compact, Slim Compact, and 2x2 provide ultra-fast flash recycling and camera power for the longest, most intensive shoots. For flash that's up to seven times faster and 10 times the power of internal batteries (see charts below).

Turbo AC provides the same performance as the battery powered Turbo Compact - except Turbo AC is continuously powered anywhere in the world - from 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The only other thing you need is an AC outlet.

Practical for Professionals
Turbo, Turbo SC, and Turbo 2x2 cases are rugged and "give" slightly, making them durable and comfortable to wear on a belt. Any camera strap attaches for over-the-shoulder carrying. (See special offer at end of section.)

Turbo Compact's case is high strength polymer, and it screws into a standard camera tripod thread. Mount it under cameras or brackets. Special, shorter cables for cameras and flashes neatly connect to your equipment.

All four Turbo Batteries use the latest nickel-hydride or lead cells to give consistent, excellent performance. (Nicad "memory" cells are not used).

In The Studio
Use the Turbo AC to power a small accent light, such as a Qflash with a snoot attachment, in place of a less versatile AC slave unit. Or use it to power a bounced fill "room" light positioned in the upper corner of a room, or a soft light with softbox or umbrella attached.

Just connect the Turbo AC to the camera using Quantum's XDC or YDC series cables and you're connected to a constant, reliable supplyof voltage-regulated power.

Power shoe- and handle-mount flashes with Quantum's standard C series flash cables (6' long) or CC series short flash cables (for mounting under camera or bracket).

All Turbo Batteries display remaining capacity on their "fuel gauges" so that you won't be caught unaware.

Low on the charge

The size and weigth are a lot better than it's predecessor but the charge... That's another story. With the Quantum Turbo connected to a Canon 580 ex, I was able to shot a standard wedding and still have about 50% charge remaing in the unit. With the new Quantum Turbo SC fully charged I could barely finish a wedding and the baterry was exhausted. If I had known this, I would not have bought it. Quantum Turbo

Didn't know what I was getting. I thought it was going to be the big, heavy battery I carried for years. This little thing lasted throughout the entire wedding. I never used my back up.

Small size and light weight.

I have Turbo original, 2x2, SC(s) Use SC the most. I use Qflash Trio at - Half day event with One SC - Full day Wedding with Two SCs If you have bigger Qflash like T5D, it will drain the battery a lot faster than smaller Trio. much lighter than other turbo battery. love it.

Perfect for my needs

By

from Houston, TX  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I use this battery for when I have a shoot that is not as long as a wedding, about 2-3 hrs, I use my 2x2 turbo for longer shoots & this one as back up while the 2x2 turbo is being charged.Works great for me. The only complaint I have , is that when I ordered it, they did not include the charger? I was very dissapointed. Not good for whom ever filled my order? I did get after allot of aggravation , since I was going out of town to do a shoot in Florida, and I live in Houston. It finally got to me in Florida a day before I really needed it. Thanks for that part.

Questions about this item:

Freddie O  Hello I am looking for a charger that matches my turbo sc.What wold you recommend ?
FRANK G  You must use the charger that comes with it, they are battery specific.
Freddie O  How are you Mr.Frank ? Well let me be more specific. I would not have asked that question if I had not misplaced the originial charger. But you did not know this. But I have ordered one from Adorama. Thank you.
Michael K  I have a quantum turbo battery which is about ten (10) years old, and it still works beautifully. I have used this battery with my film cameras' and my HV285 when shooting weddings 10 years ago and now use it with my Nikon SB800 for shooting portraits and family shots. Is this unit the successor to mine? and is it worth the money. M. Kinshaw
J A  We use the Quantum SC with the Nikon SB900 flashes and it has worked quite well. We have not had the SC for 10 years so I can not tell you if it wil last that long but our photographers have to carry full gear all day so it is a plus to lighten there load with te hsmaller battery. We are also digital now and use the Nikon D3s and D3x cameras with the higher ASA's with the D3s we do not have to put out as much output with the flash , not as much strain on the battery. Hope this is helpful. Jessica Holden Photographic Services Supervisor U.S. Senate
Michael K  Jessica, Thank you so much for your response to my question. I have the SB800 which I am very happy with as well as an "OLD" lumidyne that I have had for 20 plus years. I thank you for your experience with the turbo, and am leaning toward its purchase very shortly. Sincerly Mike Kinshaw
