I have a big, heavy duty chrome monopod that I use shooting field sports with a 70-400 lens. I wanted a small, light monopod that would support my 70-200 in a jazz club, and not be conspicuous. This model fit those needs perfectly. When collapsed, it will ride under the flap of my camera bag, and in use the dark color blends in. The mounting screw can be reversed to provide a 1/4" or 3/8" attachment. Carbon fibre for lightness, with plenty of strength to support an SLR with a 70-200 2.8 lens. NIce design, well executed.

I use it for travel since it is very light and compact. Good for night photography. It can accomdate a full size DSLR with a 18-200 zoom lens. I just wish it has has a tripod attachment so it can stand on its own like a regular tripod, Then I will not net a regular tripod anymore

The Redged RMC-424 4-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod is a sturdy, extremely lightweight monopod for shooting situations that require a lower-profile or lighter camera support than a tripod. Compact when collapsed (just 19.7"), the monopod reaches a maximum height of 59.1". With a load capacity of 17.6 lb, it's a robust support most camera configurations.
The RMC-424 features twist-lock leg stages and a foam grip on the upper section for secure, comfortable operation even in extreme temperatures. A hand strap serves as a line of defense against equipment drops. The monopod has a reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw, so you can mount any head or camera directly.
