david b : greetings #1. i am looking for a bare bulb AC light that is small enough to fit into most lampshades for interior architectural work. #2 is this small enough #3 does it work without plastic dome? (for extra small fixtures #4 what is the height -- above socket threads to top of dome? #5 what is diameter of dome? thanks a bunch!! davidANDREW R : This unit will function with or without the diffuser attached, and will fit into most standard lamp sockets. The manufacturer does not supply specific dimensions but the unit is roughly the size of a larger CFL spiral bulb (it may not fit smaller fixtures). At 60w/s its output is enough to provide some accent lighting but is not horribly powerful.

frequent breakdowns

Great in every respect except that the bulbs don't last long. You better have replacement bulbs available if you are in critical shoot.

RPS Bare Bulb AC Slave Flash.....
Use this slave flash with both conventional cameras and digitals for main, fill or background lighting. It has the versatility you need to match just about any shooting situation.

The diffuser twists off to give you access to the internal reflector for changing the lighting pattern from standard to wide-angle. When the reflector is inverted, the bare bulb creates an ultra-wide 310° coverage; with reflector extended, the light is concentrated for 45° angle of coverage.

The built-in slave sensor fires unit when within 80 ft. of master flash (depending on its power). A 2-position switch synchronizes the slave with both single flash and multiple-flash bursts from most digital and 35mm cameras.

An optional PC cord provide direct connection as an alternative to slave triggering. Flash is rated at 60 watt-seconds of power, has a standard householdlight bulb base, attaches to any AC socket or AC slave flash holder, and has a test flash button.

130610 Filter set includes dome-shaped red, blue, green and orange filters and frosted diffuser that replace standard diffuser.
