Questions & Answers

Don G : I am using a Alzo lighting system which is 5600 kelvins. What Cokin filter do I use to correct the color. I was told it would be in the Magenta tone????ANDREW R : It would help to know what you're trying to correct to. 5600k is roughly daylight balance, 3200k is tungsten. Blue filtration (in various strengths) is used when correcting tungsten to match daylight, orange filtration (in various strengths) is used when correcting daylight to tungsten. Filters used to correct for fluorescent lighting are normally tinted green (in varying strengths). If you are trying to balance lights, you may need correction over then lights rather than on the lens of your camera. Without specifics it's difficult to provide accurate guidance.
