Before I purchased this item, I was unsure that it would work with my Speedlight flash unit. The description was unclear. For the record IT DOES WORK WITH STANDARD SPEEDLIGHT FLASH UNITS. I have attached a Canon 580ex II and I'm comfortable with the build and construction. It is made with heavy plastic and some metal.
Definitely fulfills its purpose.
this has ok construction and mounts to a light stand well. Don't like how the hot shoe mount works.
just remember to tighten the flash
onto the clamp. it may feel as though its tightly seated but my flash fell three feet onto concrete when i moved the stand. luckily it was unharmed.
my fault...nothing to do with the product but forewarned is forearmed.
In my first use I ruined the umbrella screw, it loose tightening. Photoflex sent me the replacement screw very quickly and its better quality than the original one. Nice customer service. I think that this screw needs improvement and the overall quality will be consistent.
This is an excellent low budget all in clamp, can be used w/ any light stand, super clamp, or even bungee corded to a pole to let adjust your speed light and umbrella easily.
Although not noted, the flash show mount does come w/ a tiny fastening screw so your flash wont fall out, it is not the most device so if your paranoid and your speedlight coming, just mask or gaffer the speedlight down, remembering to tape the base of the shoe so you wont short out the hot shoe connections on your speed light.
Can't beat the price. Does what I need them to do.
Much better than I expected for the price. Solid, well built, holds flash tight. I did put some tape over the base to keep contacts from touching the bare metal. This mount does the job perfectly!
This umbrella holder allows you to use your speedlight with umbrella. It attaches to the light stand quite well and holds the flash. The flash shoe is a little bit cheesy, but it is removeable and you can use another one (e.g. slave) instead of it. The build quality is quite good with the main problem being the umbrella holding part: the screw goes into plastic, so it feels (and it really is) unsecure. If you try to really tighten it - you will corrupt it. All other screws are going into metall and fix everything quite well.
