Well its not the prettiest cold shoe on the planet but it works very well, The locking mechanism is kind of funky looking but is very secure. I had doubts before my first outing but it all works great.

I noticed a couple complaints about the pin/stud at the bottom of this adapter and I had the same issue. It prevented attachment on my tripod mount. The remedy is very simple. I locked the adapter in a [padded] vice and used a small screw extractor in a hand drill (a plain old drill bit will work as well) and the pin/stud spun right out. Problem solved.

If the shoe fits, use it. This works so much better than the plastic ones that come on my light stands. At east this actually holds on to my flash units. Will buy more if needed, the best part is that they were half the price of Amazon.

Unit is adequately built, however small stud --or pin-- not visible in product photo protrudes vertically from bottom and limits where this unit may be attached via a 1/4x20 threaded hole in bottom.

I need a very specific shoe that wouldn't twist and this did the trick. Fit my Stoboframe Quick Flip 350 perfectly.

The mount is very secure and holds well, especially for the price. If you are using a shoe mount flash then the hole keeps your contacts from touching, which great because a lot of these let the contacts touch and can cause problems.

At the bottom there is an additional pin that did not fit my bracket. When you look at the pictures, the bottom of it just shows the screw and hole.

This is a really secure shoe mount for manually operated speedlights mounted to light stands with either 3/8 or 1/4 inch threads.

Attaches to my older Stroboframe. A little sharpe on the edges compared to the current model by Tiffen. But it works fine and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Adorama shipped quickly for minimum cost. I'd recommend it!

If you want to attach your shoe-mount flash to something else - usually a 1/4 tripod or light stand stud - get this. It's perfectly made and designed and much better than it looks. Has that classy feel I've only seen from brands like RRS, Kirk, Acratech, Novoflex, Arca Swiss...

These a great value for the money and very easy to use. I attach these to some flexible arms and are great to position a flash in difficult locations.

This cold shoe adapter is well designed, well made and sturdy. Those attributes make it a good value because I know I can depend on it and not have to replace it any time soon.

Great little item that converts your light stand or tripod to a hot shoe mount.

Don't waste your money on this. First of all, it's NOT a Stroboframe product, it's a Flashpoint product which is probably why it's so cheap. But the cheap price turns into a total loss because the design makes it unusable. The thumbscrew thread is too short so the clamp won't open far enough to fit either of my Vivitar or Sunpak flashes without popping off. At that point the non-captive springs pop out and get lost. How could Flashpoint design this and not have it fit a Vivitar 285, one of the most common flashes out there? It seems that some customers have gotten the real Stoboframe product here in the past, but this is NOT it.

Does the job well! Designed to not have metal contact with hot shoe, but that it doesn't misfire. Great price, great build, and absolutely reliable and a must for any strobist!

This is an excellent flash bracket to add a shoe mount flash to an umbrella bracket for off camera lighting.

This little item is one I need almost everywhere I employ external flash units. It isn't as well designed as it could be--no plastic please. And I feel exploited by the price. There should be many more and better options. I'm sure eventually Really-Right-Stuff or someone else will get into making better flash supports, etc.

This is not built as solid as the older Stroboframe camera/flash mounts and the small springs in the shoe seem to have no purpose at least to me.What is missing is a rear stop pin for the flash to be held more securely in the shoe as if slightly loose it will slide right thru when you put the flash unit on it.I made my own pin for that and driled it and installed it but should be included when made.[...]

the finish and the workmanship is much worse than I expect(I own lots of machined gear parts like RRS's)but so far it just works.
