I used this straight into subject and also bounced off a low white ceiling. The bounced light inside the diffuser is fairly pleasing compared to the bounced flash without the diffuser. Shooting direct at the subject with the diffuser was slightly better than shooting directly at the subject without the diffuser.

This thing really work nice but you should know this is only for bounce......best indoor, can use outdoor as a bouncer...

I use it to soften the bright glare of the flash. Most often I use it when I am pointing the flash straight at my subject. When I bounce the light, I think the flash does fine without the diffuser. I have only had a short time, so, who knows? I may start using it for every single shot. I am very happy with this purchase reguardless. And thank you to Adorama for the super fast, safe shipping I have come to expect with every order.

I bought this at the same time I bought my Nikon SB-400 flash. The combination of the flash with all of its flexibility with the tilting head, etc. and the Omni-Bounce allowed for a lot of creativity and flexibility when a flash is called for in a shot. It's worth the money.

I love this diffusor! It definitely does what it says and for a great price. It may not be the answer for everyones problems but for me its great! Especially for under $10!

If you want soften and spread the light your getting from your flash then this does the job... Especially if your on a budget. It fits real snug on the SB-400 and is well constructed. I hardly ever take it off of my flash and I only do that, so that I can fit the flash back into the travel pouch that it came in.

Best use where a white ceiling is not availbe to bounce the SB400 flash, or where a "vertical" camera position is required. Eliminates any harsh light from the flash.

Always have it on my flash and ready to go when I turn flash unit on. It is my very inexepensive version of a ring flash. Use it when photographing flowers up close and early in the day. Also use it to photograph insects about sunset time. Love it.

This just works. No more washed out colors due to overpowering flash. Easy to use, not flimsy. Do have to get used to how soft it makes the light, in darker settings it can sometimes be too much.

Fits perfectly on my small SB-400 flash, does a nice job at flash fill and softens the usual over flash effects. However it's a bit pricey for a piece of plastic.

The Sto-Fen gives you many of the same effects and advantages of bouncing your flash from a wall, ceiling or a taped-on card reflector. But, the Sto-Fen is much more convenient, and the results are more predictable and repeatable. Excellent product, even though a little over-priced.

I bought this diffuser in hopes that it would solve a problem I was having photographing my Asian wife and Asian friends. I needed something to reduce reflections from their fair skin tones and this Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for my Nikon SB-400 Flash is just what I needed. Now I can take pleasing portraits without the unappealing reflections I was getting from the flash alone.

It's a simple diffuser, extremely easy to clip on and off. Softens the flash really nicely, no flash glares anymore. A must buy for anyone who uses the SB-400 flash.
