I own a Vivitar 285HV, but I also use other flashes. This flash diffuser fits well and improves the quality of my pictures in dark environments.

I use it when doing outside portraits at night, defuses the light very well. Snaps on my flash end, does pop off occasionally so maybe some tape on the edge would be a good idea.

I have a Stofen diffuser on my Vivitar 285 and it works extremely well.

i was suprised to find a difuser for my older flash that i inherited from my brothers old photo bag. perfect fit and difuses fine. it has helped my pics greatly

It is really too small for a Vivitar 285HV. Unlike the picture it doesn't fit over the flash head, it snaps inside the flange and not very securely. But works okay if it doesn't fall off
