These modifiers are reasonably color neutral. The flat top allows good intensity for ceiling bounce while the faceted sides spread well. They are thick material and never experienced cracking. They go on easily but have an annoying habit coming off when carrying pointing down. They are soft so make no sound on the floor. Like the way they perform in venues so just keep spares as a trade-off. Need to be less $$. Recommended.

The Sto-Fen does what it claims. In terms of flash modifiers, it's far from the best choice, but with a speedlight in a softbox or umbrella, off-camera, or even on-camera - the spread of diffusion is far better than without.

Every one of our on-camera flash heads use one.

This works to diffuse the harsh light from the flash, the light 'washes' over someone's face, for example, rather than 'spot lighting' them. Very Uncomplicated to use - simple is very often the best and it sure is here. WELL worth the $$

For most circumstances, the single most important flash/speedlite accessory a budding photographer can buy is a good diffuser. The Sto-Fen Omni is made in sizes that fit most all modern speedlites and is the 'gold standard' for creating softer, more usable light. Buy one; it works!

A must have to reduce the harsh light coming from a high power flash such as the 580EX 11.

I been using this for about a month now. I must conclude that my pictures are so much better with the Sto-Fen Omni Bounce. This product is a no brainer and a must have.

This is never removed from my Canon 580 EX flash unit. It is perfect for bounce flash applications. Interestingly, it also seems to open doors for me For whatever reason, when people see my camera with the diffuser on the flash they assume I'm a professional photographer. It has allowed me to get shots otherwise unavailable to me. After looking at my camera gear, the most common question people pose is, "Who do you work for?" Not a bad additional benefit to the diffuser!

It is often very difficult to obtain correct skin color under artificial lighting with either direct or fill flash. This offers an acceptable, low cost, easy to use solution. I am no longer reluctant to use my flash!

I have one of these and use it all the time with my 580EX flash. So, when I bought a 580EXII, I immediately ordered another one. However, the 580EXII is a slightly different design (it has a rubber seal on the seam), and this doesn't fit quite so well. It fits, but you have to force it on and I'm concerned repeated forcing will damage the rubber seal on the 580EXII flash.

I've used the Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce for quite some time with other flashes. Once you get used to the output of a flash with the Omni-Bounce, it's a must have. The only problem is it does not come off and on the 580EX II very well. It get's hung up on the rubber weather sealing, so putting it on and taking it off is a bit of a task. That's the only reason I deducted a star.

It's simply a plastic diffuser but it's easier to snap on than the barf bag I was using before.

I purchase this for both my strobes, 580ex and 420ex and they both work as expected. Doesn't get in the way and it fills the areas out when needed. Every photographer should have one or two handy in their carry on during shoots.

Perfect for bouncing light wherever you need it. Useless outdoors unless you want to waste several stops of light behind you and not get any diffusing effect. But in tight spaces with white walls, its great. When used off camera on a light stand and paired with another speedlight/stofen on a stand, you can get that barebulb look and fill whole room with soft light. Fits a bit tight on the 580EXII due to the rubber strips they added to the flash head. But, its a small issue.

This diffuses the flash very nicely, whether the flash is straight on or bouncing off the ceiling. Provides very nice, even illumination.

This thing does what it says. It diffuses the flash light and it does it well. You could build something for much cheaper to do the same job, but it likely wouldn't be as strong or durable. It fits the flash (Canon 580 EX) well and doesn't distort or stretch.

Perfect fit
By JOHN N.
I use this on my 580exII to keep light from being too harsh.. basically I use it as a diffuser. It fits perfectly on the flash, and protects the top portion of the flash. The only downside is the flash case can't close completely over the flash with it installed, and it is such a tight fit, that I don't want to take it off and put it on frequently to prevent wear on the flash.
Great deal!

Fits the 580 exii well. A bit snug at first.
The Omni-Bounce creates a Diffused Bare Bulb Effect. Giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format. (And equal in other formats as well.) The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off of your flash in seconds with custom fitting, except UNI, and No Velcro. Designed for years of service with out the bulk of some other Diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into your gadget bag or pocket.
