Questions & Answers

Shopper : does it fit all flashes?MICHAEL L : Sto-Fen makes Omni-Bounce for different models so make sure you pick the correct model to fit your flash.FRED L : The Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce fits my SB-80DX and SB-800 flashes fine. Too small for the SB-900. One nice thing about the soft cases from Nikon is that I can leave the Sto-Fen on the flash and it fits into the bag. A small detail but handy. FredMOHAMMAD A : I have a Nikon D700 and this fits perfectly.DUSTY D : These must be purchased for specific flashes but each model may fit more than one flash.GARY G : You need to order a diffuser that will fit your specific flash. For instance, the Stofen Omni-Bounce that fits my Nikon SB-80dx is too small to fit my Canon 430EX.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?THOMAS K : I had no diffuser for my Nikon 50 dx flash. I sometimes use three flashes with slaves and needed a diffuser

Must Have!

Great product! The only reason I didn't give it the 5th star is that it's difficult to attach but once you get it on, you're good. It's great for skin tones. It's tough to avoid those harsh highlights without this. Get two for each flash you won.

Essential compact diffuser

I carry this along with the gold and green versions whenever I shoot interiors. Helps to soften and match the color of light from my off camera flash units to the white balance setting on the camera. I use this white one when shooting rooms primarily lit by daylight. I don't use it correct the color of the flash (it's white!), but it will soften the harsh flash somewhat. If you're looking for a diffuser for portraits and you're not able to bounce the flash off an umbrella, I highly recommend the Gary Fong Lightsphere. It throws a perfect light, but is a little bulky compared to the Sto-fen.

it was hard to figure out apertures/shutterspeeds/etc in manual mode after putting it on [my sb50dx flash isn't iTTL compatible with the d70s unless on manual] but once i got it it was great. it softened the light and was really useful as i used it for a gig in a very dim ballroom.

The Omni-Bounce creates a Diffused Bare Bulb Effect. Giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format. (And equal in other formats as well.) The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off of your flash in seconds with custom fitting, except UNI, and No Velcro. Designed for years of service with out the bulk of some other Diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into your gadget bag or pocket.
