I use this on my Pentax K10, lens is ideal for everyday use, especially indoors where sometimes you need a wide angle lens, and then go outside where you might need a long zoom lens. It is not weather resistant like the Pentax DA lenses are.

This is a good lens to travel with because of it's zoom range. Super quite focus. It's also good as an event lens, like birthday party's, weddings etc. Seems a little heavy for the size.

Great as an all purpose lens. I like the markings on the lens, vivid, clear and easy to read.

I bought this lens used at Adorama.[...]. The lens is ok, but really HEAVY and just so/so image quality, especially at the edges. I would recommend it though.

This lens is much better than the canon consumer lenses in my opinion. It may have a slight front focusing issue and if it does I'll send it back to sigma for an adjustment or use it as an excuse to upgrade to the 50D with micro adjustment instead of sending it back to the retailer so everyone else can take the time and expense of correcting a common problem with most lenses.

In my opinion, this is a pretty good compromise between the short zoom like the 18-55 and the long superzooms like the 18-250. Image quality is very good from 18-90mm, with great sharpness and color. Past 90mm it takes a pretty good hit on sharpness and you will want to stop down to f8-10 for best results. Focus is pretty good - faster than the kit zooms, but not like Canon ring USM. Construction is excellent. All-in-all a good lens for everyday walkaround and travel. 125mm is longer than it sounds and should be more than enough reach for everything but wildlife and sports.

Excellent for all around use. The wide angle allows pictures of groups or indoor photos. The motor is quiet and adjusts from wide to telephoto quickly but smoothly. This lense plus my 70mm to 300mm lens covers 95% of my needs. Unless I get into specific photographic needs like macros or potraite requirements.

I am into Texas architecture history and design enthusiast. i also shoot landscapes and wildlife as I travel Texas doing architecture. I am a college grad and senior citizen. The kit lens on my Sony a300 lacked range, this lens goes out to 180mm and shows 27mm wide angle capture. NICE. The images are excellent in ARW(RAW) and JPEG for smaller files. Slow focus in long zooms only thing keeping this lens from perfect.

Just a GREAT sharp Lens I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! One thing is that this add is a bit missleading and you can look at sigmaphoto.com to verify is that OS is NOT available with the sony mount not a big deal becasue Sony has it built in to their cameras so please DO NOT BE MISSLED by the add here, if you buy a sony mount it will NOT have OS

I got this lens for my Nikon D80 with the initial plans of using it as an "everyday lens". I have had great fun with it and continue to use it regularly, but just not everyday. I have found it, for my use, to make the camera to big, bulky, and heavy for the type of shooting I like to do, which is on the run with the camera over my shoulder. It does take some practice to use in low light or inside with no flash, but once you learn it with your camera you will love this lens on a tripod doing long exposures at different focal lengths(see photo below). All in all, I dig this lens, but as it turns out not for the reason I thought. Sigma just makes a nice lens and despite it being a little noisy compared to a much more expensive lens and the issue of weight, there really are no weaknesses to this lens. I love the grips and feel of it too.

This 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS (Optical Stabilizer) high power zoom ratio lens is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras and is capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto.
It is equipped with Sigma's own unique technology of OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. This function uses two sensors inside the lens to detect vertical and horizontal movement of the camera and works by moving an optical image stabilizing lens group, to effectively compensate for camera shake.
It automatically detects movement of the camera and compensates for camera shake when shooting moving subject such as motor sports. Two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and three aspherical lenses provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations.
The super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghost. This lens provides superior image quality throughout the entire zoom range. An inner focusing system eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using circular polarizing filters and the petal-type lens hood supplied.
