Great prime that's plenty fast and slightly longer than standard (60 mm equivalent). This also makes it a great portrait lens. f1.4 is slightly soft - no problem for portraits (perhaps even beneficial), but for other subjects go to f1.8 - 2.0 and ISO 200 or 320 and you will be in business, even with only candle light. Very nice construction, on par with the great ZUIKO lenses. This has the newer HSM motor and focuses very quickly and quietly. The lens lets in tons of light, and from the front all you see is the huge front element. It is, however, slightly on the heavy side for my E-500.

This lens is always mounted on my camera, ready for anything. I prefer available light, and the large aperture makes low light photography a real pleasure. One of my first photos with this lens was in an office environment: no special lighting, just a beutiful subject in front of a great lens, with teriffic results.
