About Sigma EF-610 DG ST

This Sigma EF-610 DG ST Bundle comes with: and Shipping is free!

The EF-610 DG ST features a powerful Guide Number of 200ft / 61m and is designed to work with the latest TTL auto exposure systems of all popular digital and film SLR cameras.

It features TTL automatic flash exposure control for easy operation. The autozoom function automatically sets the optimum illumination angle in accordance with the lens' focal length in a range from 24mm to 105mm. When the built-in Wide Panel is used, the flash can cover the angle of 17mm.

For bounce flash, the flashgun head can be tilted up by 90 degrees, to the left by 180 degrees, or to the right by 90 degrees. It can also be tilted down by 7 degrees allowing ease of use for close-up photography. In addition to automatic mode, the flashgun also features a manual flash mode, making it possible to set the flash power to full or 1/16. When the flashgun is fully charged, a confirmation 'ready' light will be emitted and the flash exposure level can be checked through the camera's viewfinder.

Other features incorporated into this flashgun include the Auto Power-Off function to help save battery power.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT FOR PENTAX K-30

By

The flash would not fit onto the camera--I measured the piece on my Pentax with the base of the flash and the flash attachment site was much larger. I pushed and pushed and it finally went on--then I had just as bad a time getting it off. I thought---why ruin my camera because this dog won't fit? so it went back to Adorama the next day. I TRUSTED ADORAMA AND THIS WAS A REAL LET DOWN--MY FIRST ONE WITH THEM.

Great for the price!

I am hard on flash units. Use them in crowds on remote and they get hard use. At he price it doesn't shake me up when they are damaged.

Didn't work consistently with Sony A37

By

When the flash worked, it worked great but it would randomly stop being recognized as being on the camera and would not work. I sent 2 of them back.

Nice, inexpensive flash, but....

By

...but you get what you pay for. As a straight on-camera flash, this unit does a very good job. The problem I am having is as soon as I swivel or tilt the head into bounce mode, the D3100 no longer meters properly and I am forced to go into manual and bracket into the proper exposure. Inconvenience for staged shots, not useful for active shots. I have replaced it with an SB800, which properly meters bounce conditions, and will be using the EF-610 only as an off-camera fill flash.

Dependable Flash

By

I wanted to get a new flash for my Pentax K-30. I own two Pentax Flashes, but I have never been 100% happy with their flashes. The Sigma EF-610. DG ST is a basic flash. There is no LCD on the back of the flash. It is very simple to use. Attach it to you hotshoe, set your camera to program or auto, and you are all set to go. The bottom line is the images. This flash does the job as advertised. If you want the other Sigma flash with the LCD, you can get it, but it will cost a lot more. I have no issues or concerns about my flash. I did speak to Sigma on the phone and they told me that alkaline batteries last longer than lithium batteries. For a simple flash that works great, I would recommend this flash. Just remember, every SLR camera that has a pop -up flash isn't designed for everything. You will need a shoemount flash to increase the proformance of your camera.

Powerful but simple to use

By

I use the Sigma EF regularly as a newspaper reporter. It works well in all kinds of lighting conditions. It recycles fast even when I need a lot of light in a big auditorium. I don't find anything wrong about it. It is perfect for me as a reporter.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Is this ok for nikon 3100?
YAN S  I used to work with this flash on the Nikon D5000 and Nikon D300. In my case it makes a very good job. I do not see any reason for this flash will not work with Nikon D3100.
yadiel P  it is good for Nikon D3000?
LEE K  It might work on that camera, but my daughter did not have a good experience with this flash. It did not last very long, so I can't really recommend it. I have had much better and long lasting success with Nikon flashes. Best wishes... Lee
Shopper  Is this any good? I was contemplating the SB900, but many users say it's bulky and can "burn up"....I've used Sigma lenses, but not its flashes.
KEN S  The EF-610 is a pretty good flash for the money. I haven't used Nikon's higher end series to compare but this flash seems to get the job done for me. TTL mode seems to consistently underexpose just a bit, easily compensated for. I shot about 160 shots at a wedding on one charge of the included batteries and it was still cycling in <5 seconds. I haven't tried anything too fancy and it has served my needs. I haven't noticed the flash getting warm at all although the charger did get quite warm the first time I put the batteries in it. Subsequent charge cycles did not do this. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the flash. It serves my purpose. Hope this helps.
