I typically use canon gear, but one time I lost my canon cap while traveling. When I tried to buy a replacement cap, I was forced to buy a nikon one and it worked just fine with the sigma filter.Hope that helps. BTW these filters are great. I only buy the Sigma EX DG filters now.MAN K : Yes, the Nikon lens cap will still work after attaching (screwing on) the filter to the lens. The filter has the same provision as the lens for clamping on the Nikon lens cap. Why not?

You spend the money for a good quality lens, than put a lees than quality filter on it. Sigma built my lens so Sigma can build my filters! It's that simple.

a must have!

having just purchased a tamron 10-24mm wide angle lens, i needed a good filter, and this one was it! absolutely critical on a wide angle lens, any lens actually. very easy to install, very well made, was worried about warpage, there was none. the film coating is perfect, no abberations of any sort, very pleased.

Great Protective filter

I picked this up for my sigma 10-20 on a canon body. Unlike other filters of this size it does allow the front lens cap to attach to the filter so for me that was a great plus. I would highly recommend.

Nice Filter

I purchased this filter to go on a sigma lens that I purchased. I mainly purchase the filters to protect my glass and reduce haze in outdoor shots. I decided to buy a better quality filter to ensure that I get the most from the lens I purchased. So far all of the shots look good and I am not seeing any artifacts from the lens or filter.

Does What it is Supposed To Do

Use with the Sigma 10-20mm zoom. Multi-coated filters are a must and this one not only protects the lens but also reduces unwanted reflected light.

Digitally Optimized (DG) Filters
Ex DG filters benefit from Sigma's multi-layer lens coating, developed to counteract the highly reflective characteristic of image sensors. With older style filters, light would reflect off the image sensor, bounce off the lens and filter elements and re-enter the image sensor, creating a ghost image. The multi-layer coating dramatically reduces this effect. In addition to this, an optimum, neutral color balance is ensured, increasing the white balance accuracy of the digital camera.

Multi-coated UV Filter
This filter perfectly eliminates the harmful effect of ultraviolet light. The multi-coated UV filter can be used with both color and black-and-white film and digital sensors. This is the most suitable filter for protective use and general photography.
