I was looking for a beefier tripod to hold my new gimbal head and Sigma 500mm lens. When I opened the box I was surprised and thought it didn't look much different than my prior tripod with the same diameter legs , but only rated for 17 lbs. I decided to keep it after giving it a workout. It handles my equipment and will travel well on my trips to Yellowstone. I did add a nice little bubble level to the Gimbel head and now its perfect! ($5.00 at the hardware store)

I did not buy this tripod here, but since I see they have it I thought I'd add my review in hopes some will find it useful who are shopping here for a Tripod. I use this tripod with a Sirui K-20X ball head when shooting landscapes and with a Carbon Fiber NEST gimbal head when shooting BIF, wildlife, action, etc. My camera is a Canon 7D Mark II and currently the largest lens I use with this tripod is a Canon 300mm f4L with 1.4 extender. It's not a huge lens, but I'm confident this tripod could easily handle my rig if I ever get a larger lens such as the Sigma 150-600 Sport (a 6 lb lens) or the new Canon 100-400 L USM II. I am a semi-serious enthusiast but by no means a professional. That said, I did do a lot of research and asked a lot of questions before I gravitated to this tripod. I feel that, for the money, I could not have done better. I am glad I went with four-section legs and not the 5-section version as I feel the four section will provide a bit more stability, even though it is a tad longer when folded up. This tripod is very light, yet very strong (Carbon Fiber). It is extremely well made and comes with a very nice nylon case. The case has lots of nice extra design features. For example, there are two zippered compartments for storing odds and ends. One compartment is inside the case and one is outside. Also there is a little leather tab that covers the zipper pull on the inside zippered compartment. This is a small but nice touch that will ensure the zipper pull doesn't scratch the tripod and reflects the attention to detail that has gone into this product. It also comes with a nice padded carrying strap that can be used with the case, or can be used to carry the tripod out of the case. I love the "twist-to-loosen/tighten" legs! My former tripod (A cheap @ model) had the little flip tabs to loosed/tighten the legs. Not nearly as nice (and fast/easy) as this method, IMHO. One of the legs can unscrew and the head mount screwed on so you can use it as a very nice monopod as well (and it comes with a nice wrist strap for the monopod). The Socket where the monopod legs screws into is a very nice, machined brass fitting! One complaint I had seen about this tripod that I'd like to address is the complaint that the case was too short to allow the tripod with the ball head attached to fit. This is true, however, at least with the K-20X ball head I bought, I found a good solution. The K-20X ball head comes in a very nice neoprene (sp) bag and will fit nicely between the legs, (open end where the legs come together in the case) and the case closes nicely with the ball head situated in this manner. Overall I could not be happier with this tripod! It is light and compact, easy/fast to set up, and very sturdy. I also like the little spikes that can be extracted from the feet by twisting the feet. This is nice it you are working on a dirt surface. One last thing: With the legs fully extended, it is tall enough for me (5'10") to comfortably use without the need to extend the center tube at all.
