I've only owned one other monopod and I almost bought the same thing again because I had almost no complaints with it. It was solid and not too heavy with aluminum construction and twist locks for the sections. This Sirui is better though. It's just as sturdy but it's lighter and the twist locks feel smoother and more secure. I got a Sirui ball head with it and both have been more than adequate for my Nikon D3s and Nikon 70-200 mm f2.8 zoom. I shoot mostly sports with it and it not only provides slightly more vibration free shots, but more importantly it saves my shoulders and back from having to hand hold the camera steady for up to 1000 frames per event. This is a purchase I have no regrets at all with.
