About Slik 330DX

The latest metal, SLIK's exclusive A.M.T. super titanium alloy legs make the PRO 330 DX lighter weight than similar tripods, but with more rigidity for a more secure hold on your camera. It folds down small to just 23.5 inches and weighs just 3.5 pounds making this tripod great for traveling.

The emphasis on the PRO 300 DX is ease of use. Any tripod should be easy to use, so that that you spend more time concentrating on your subject, and enjoying your photography, than you do stressing about and fussing with your equipment. The lightest of the PRO series, the PRO 330 DX makes setting up easy with secure, yet fast speed release leg locks, gearless center column for quick height adjustments, and 3 position adjustable angle legs for easy set up on uneven ground or steps. This adjustable angle feature can also be used to lower the camera for extremely low angle or macro photography out in the field.

Despite it's featherweight and ease of use, the PRO 330 DX can hold nearly 8 ponds of camera and lens. Perfect for the photographer with a digital camera or lightweight SLR camera and lens. Plus the head is removable, so that a variety of other heads, like one of the SLIK ball heads, can be used in place of the included all-metal 3-way pan head with quick release.

With it's application of lightweight super alloy, the SLIK PRO 330 DX presents a economical alternative to the more expensive carbon fiber tripods, allowing you to travel light, on any budget.

The PRO 300 DX is available in both Black and natural A.M.T. super alloy finish.

I love this tripod. It is excellent!

This product has been more useful than a tripod I bought for $186. I now have a tripod for all uses. My next venture is to use this tripod for portraits.

good, but limited

I found the tilt and pan head too heavy and the handles were so long it was hard to carry hiking. I replaced the head with a F2 Flashpoint ball head. It's lighter and less cumbersome. I don't like the location of the locking collar of the center column. You have to remember to lower the center column before closing the legs. The legs have to be spread wide so that you can turn the collar. It's a good tripod over all.

I would buy this product again.

I am an advanced hobbyist photographer and my original Slik tripod finally broke after nearly 20 years of use. Just purchased its replacement and love it. Easy to use, very reasonably priced, and now I've confirmed the product is reliable and durable.

Good, but cumbersome

By

from Los Angeles, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

I use this tripod to take product photos and it works really well. It took a while to get used to all of the ways you can adjust the legs, but I like the fact that you can adjust the angles of the legs. That is something I would give this tripod more stars for. It's big and can take up a lot of room so I tend to use a remote to shoot with.

Great product for my DSLR

By

from Cleveland, OH  -  Photo Enthusiast

Needed something to reduce hand tremors other than the technology that comes with the DSLR. Purchased separate bag that makes it easy to sling over my back to carry to location of the shot. Will use in travels because it is light weight, but sturdy. It may be useful in videography, but I don't intend using it that way.

Solid tripod for the price

By

from Lincoln City, OR  -  Photo Enthusiast

If I had to do this over again, I would order one with a ball head instead of the 3-way pan head. The pan head is fine and of good quality, but I find it too fussy to work with. I've since added a SLIK Pro 800 ball head to this tripod and I'm much more pleased with how the whole setup performs. I'm relatively new to digital photography and I'm having to learn these lessons as I go, but trust me on this...a ball head is definitely the way to go. The tripod itself is fairly lightweight but feels quite solid even with the center column halfway extended. Easy to adjust and your camera feels quite safe and secure when locked in. I'm using a Rebel Xsi and lenses up to 70-300mm without a problem. Highly recommended!

Great fro travelor boonie tromping

By

from Escondido, CA  -  Photo Enthusiast

I have modified this tripod in the following ways: 1. Replaced the center column with the optional shorter column which reduces the leg set weight to exactly 2 pounds. 2. Replaced the SLIK head with the Adorama Flashpoint F-1 magnesium alloy ball head which weighs 11 ounces. This combination at 2 pounds 11 ounces is an ideal travel and boonie tromping tripod. It easily supports my Canon 40D camera and 70-200mm f/4L IS lens which is the heaviest package I use on it. One drawback is that this setup is short. In order to maintain stability, I don't use the center column to raise the camera. However, I am willing to either stoop a bit or use my right angle finder in order to have a reasonably priced combination that is light enough to suit my needs. This setup is specialized and I have a taller, sturdier and heavier tripod which I use for much of my shooting. However that tripod/head setup weighs in excess of 7 pounds which I consider too heavy for some travel and most boonie tromping.

Solid and inexpensive

The legs are great. The head seems a bit heavy, but I plan to get a ball head at some point for it.
