Slik Pro 700DX A.M.T. Super Titanium Alloy Tripod, Supports 15 lbs., Maximum Height 74"

About Slik PRO

SLIK's exclusive A.M.T. super titanium alloy legs make the PRO 700 DX tripod rock steady yet lighter than it looks. The A. M. T. alloy has a 40% greater strength to weight ratio than standard aluminum, meaning the legs are lighter weight yet stronger than the standard metal used in most of today's tripods.

Capable of handling the weight of large format (4x5) field cameras or heavy, long telephoto lenses, The PRO 700 DX offer professional photographers and advanced amateurs the strength and stability they need while its size, and the use of A. M. T. alloy, make it lighter weight and more portable than THE PROFESSIONAL series.

A tripod should be easy to use, so that that you spend more time concentrating on your photography than you do your equipment. The PRO 700 DX makes setting up easy with secure yet fast speed release leg locks, gearless center column, and 3position adjustable angle leg locks for easy set up on uneven ground or steps.

The PRO 700 DX center column is actually two threaded pieces that unscrew to convert the top piece to a short column. This combined with the adjustable leg angle locks allows the tripod to be lowered to just 15 inches for very low angleor macro photography in the field.

Value, today it's more important then ever. Compare the price and features of the PRO 700 DX to other manufacturer's professional camera supports and you willsee that dollar for dollar and feature for feature, this is one of the best values in a professional tripod available.

Solid, stable, heavy.

I bought this to use for landscape photography. Works great! Solid and stable. However, it IS heavy. Carrying my cameras plus this tripod gets a wee bit tiring on long hikes.

Great value and no it's not too heavy.

Pro Photographer. I love the extra tall range as I shoot architecture.

Great purchase

I loved this tripod, isn't that heavy as some people say.

Solid, well-made, performs

from Northern Virginia  -  Photo Enthusiast

It's a quality product and worth every penny. Very smooth pan. Versatile with three different leg settings, I particularly enjoy the ability to reverse the center-beam for close-in macro-shooting and document archiving. Bottom line is. . why put an expensive camera and lens on a flimsy base? Perfect for me; someone not a pro but looking to get more serious about photography. Some have complained that it is a bit heavy and that's true. . but it's good heavy and who wants a tripod that can get tipped or blown over? To me it speaks quality. A great buy!

Love it

I really good product and price

Nice Solid Platform

from Peoria, AZ  -  Photo Enthusiast

I use this for landscape photography, and HDR work. It's tall enough, solid, and not too heavy to carry on a trail, although I wouldn't want to take it more than a few miles. The maximum weight it will support is 5 Kilograms, or 11 pounds, so your 400mm 2.8 is to heavy for this unit. I like the dual levels, no more off kilter photographs!

Adorama site was most helpful in selecting this tripod combo. Lots of helpful information and video. Prices are right on, also.

Excelant tripod for the money

from Lockport, NY  -  Photo Enthusiast

This tripod is as good or better than alot of the higher priced ones i have looked at. Its smooth and easy to set up, the lever style leg locks hold solid as does the center coloum, very sturdy. I am six foot and with the center coloum all the way down its the perfect hight for me, no hunching over. I like the wieght of it, some people have said it is heavy, but I think it feels sturdier, doesnt feel like it will blow over in a breeze. I would not hesitate to recomend this to anyone. Definitly happy with this puchase

Great value in an awesome tripod!

Don't trust your expensive equipment to an inferior tripod, that could cost a lot in the long run

Everything I hoped it would be

from Midwest  -  Photo Enthusiast

I have used this product to shoot landscapes, and for panning. It has a very smooth swivel for panning, and is very sturdy for long exposures. It is extremely well built. While it is a bit heavy, I like the solid feel of it.

Slik Pro 780

from Aurora, CO  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This product arrived this afternoon but I can tell already i am going to be fine with it. I am an older guy but find the units solid build to be very beneficial. I will be packing this around all the time, often at 10,000 + ft altitudes. It is not that heavy. Will be using on landscapes as well as wildlife photography. I need to have a piece that is durable and stable. This tripod certainly fills the bill. Since the legs have nice foam guards on them it will be easier to shoulder as well spread out the legs on those days that are frozen and below. Slik tripods have been in my inventory for over 40 years. Looks like they will stay there that much longer.

Questions about this item:

SONYA V  Will this tripod work with the 701HDV Pro Fluid Video Mini Head and is it good for a procam? Thanks.
JAMES D  I bought the tripod for use with still cameras. When it arrived I found pretty sturdy. Just to give you an idea, I have a Manfrotto 488 (mid-size) ball head on it and use it with a Nikon D100 and D90 with the 80-200mm Nikkor zoom lens - which is a fairly heavy set up. I especially like the lever lock legs.
SONYA V  Thanks James.
Shopper  Hi, I am wondering how stable the tripod is with heavy canon L-series lens (like 300 mm)?
Suman V  Thanks guys for your answers. I have to make a choice between SLIK PRO 700 DX legs, Vanguard Alta Pro 263 AT and Manfrotto 055XPROB. I am inclined towards buying SLIK. Your advice is requested.
Rene d  What is the max height without the center column extended?
