Love this tripod! It's rock solid and can reach higher than others I've used. I have a leveling base and Manfrotto pan/tilt head mounted on it, plus my Oly E-M1 with 40-150mm Pro lens (which is big for Olympus), and the whole rig is 100% stable. I even feel comfortable picking the whole thing up by the legs and carrying it.

Great tripod. holds Heavy equipment well. I abuse mine with salt water etc. and it survives about 2 years with me. Other tripods about 6 months.

Nice sturdy tripod. Has all the features I needed at a good price point. On ly complaint might be that it is heavier than I though it wood be. Not sure that this tripod will be accompanying me on any hikes..

I was expecting a decent to fair Tripod for the money. This tripod blew me away for the price. It is pretty damn sturdy. I love how you can take it down to a short height to close to the ground and still have the support that is needed. A little on the heavy side, but I still manage to strap it to my backpack. It works really well with my gimbal head.

I'm using this tripod with a gimbal head and a Nikon D500 with a 200-500mm lens and find it very sturdy and steady. Can't ask much more. This is very good deal for the money. It's not a light weight but I'm 70+ and have no problem carrying it up to half a mile. Carbon fiber would be nice but so is that extra ($) in my pocket.

This is my second Slik pro 700dx. I bought the first one several years ago to support a spotting scope. Its very stable and solid. This new one will be used to support a camera with a long zoom. The Slik pro 700dx would be hard to beat at any price

I really like this tripod. It is very sturdy and can hold my camera and 24-70 f2.8 easily. It is heavy, so I wouldn't suggest buying it if you need to carry it around on hikes and travel.

I needed a tripod for my studio. This tripod is perfect. I an 6' tall and this fits me to a tee. It is sturdy and easy to use. It is my first Slik product and I am impressed. It is heavy but I am fine with that in the studio. Great product.

I had a need for a sturdy tripod for a remote camera set up that would see very limited use. Based on that, I could not justify another high end tripod. The Slik 700 is more than sufficient for my needs and has turned out to be an outstanding value. Very stable, easy to set up, quality feel, fit and finish. Maybe the single beat accessory I have ever purchased for under $.

I have no complaints with this tripod. I used it once this past weekend with no faults. Would definitely purchase again. My last Slick lasted 35 years. Might be a while before I have to buy another.

First impressions . Very solid and sturdy . Like the multi-angle legs and big range of heights , gets a tad lower and taller than our u-8000 while being way more sturdy. . The two make a great pair , looking forward to some long exposure milky way shots using the 580 DX pro . Only weakness we can see so far is the twist lock ring for the pan head. I guess more use and we'll get better at remembering the 2 steps for tightening the ring and using the pan knob to pan. Yes I would recommend this tripod.

This tripod is rock solid, does the job. Only area where I see it needs minor improvement is the locking / unlocking of the legs from the top collar to get broader support. Other wise its great for my purposes. I put a Sirui Ball Head on it for kids K through 12th grade portraits.

I purchased this tripod after a flimsy tripod broke on me while shooting and nearly caused my camera to break. Although some may say it's a little on the heavy side at 9 pounds, I find it to be more suitable for a variety of terrains and conditions. It is extremely stable and precise when set up. High quality aluminum make up the legs with extremely easy to use clamp locks for fast and smooth setup. For example I was taking pictures in the middle of the median of a highway while cars zipped by me 5 feet away going more than 50 mph and this tripod was still able to stay extremely still, which allowed me to take 15 second exposures with no problem. This tripod is definitely built to last and I can see myself utilizing it for many years to come.

I wholly recommend the SLIK Pro 700 DX tripod for all types of photography, be it in the studio or in the field, for all equipment sizes from compact digital to 4X5 cameras. I bought the tripod mainly for medium format film cameras, but, have used it with my Olympus E3 & E-30 and my Graflex II and Wista view cameras. The tripod allows you to set up your camera from less than 18" to slightly higher than greater than 6 Ft. The tripod has been very sturdy with my E3 and a 300mm lens, my Mamiya C330 with a 180mm lens and my Wista view and a 240mm 5.6 Nikon lens. The only drawback that I can see with the SLIK Pro 700 DX AMT is that at 7.8 lbs it is not the tripod you want to use if you backpack with your photo equipment, too heavy for me to want to do that.

Awesome! Heavy Duty and well built! My husband has only good things to say about this sturdy set up for our Canon 7D and Tamron 150-600 lens! We like to take wildlife pics, but my husband also dabbles in landscape and night photography. Yes, it is heavy, but worth the investment especially in our Nebraska winds, that can be breezier more often than not. Would recommend to anyone!

First, the 700DX shown in the photo is not the same one that I received from Adorama. Mine has black foam stuff covering the upper tripod legs. Second, it's heavier than I expected! But I love it! It's tall, sturdy, easy to maneuver my camera, and so easy to remove and attach my camera. I really wanted a Manfrotto, but settled on this Slik - and I have no regrets. For the price, you just can't beat it! Highly recommend.

I loved this tripod, isn't that heavy as some people say.

It's a quality product and worth every penny. Very smooth pan. Versatile with three different leg settings, I particularly enjoy the ability to reverse the center-beam for close-in macro-shooting and document archiving. Bottom line is. . why put an expensive camera and lens on a flimsy base? Perfect for me; someone not a pro but looking to get more serious about photography. Some have complained that it is a bit heavy and that's true. . but it's good heavy and who wants a tripod that can get tipped or blown over? To me it speaks quality. A great buy!

I use this for landscape photography, and HDR work. It's tall enough, solid, and not too heavy to carry on a trail, although I wouldn't want to take it more than a few miles. The maximum weight it will support is 5 Kilograms, or 11 pounds, so your 400mm 2.8 is to heavy for this unit. I like the dual levels, no more off kilter photographs!

This tripod is as good or better than alot of the higher priced ones i have looked at. Its smooth and easy to set up, the lever style leg locks hold solid as does the center coloum, very sturdy. I am six foot and with the center coloum all the way down its the perfect hight for me, no hunching over. I like the wieght of it, some people have said it is heavy, but I think it feels sturdier, doesnt feel like it will blow over in a breeze. I would not hesitate to recomend this to anyone. Definitly happy with this puchase

I'm buying a second one I like it
By Larry
I use it in the studio for fine portraiture and travel with it for commercial work. Extremely durable. Sets up fast. Use it for my RZ, 4x5, Seitz Roundshot, Xpan, and Digital SLR. Taken to China, Amazon, Central America, Europe, Middle East. Works great in dirt, mud, rain, nothing stops it never has a maintenance problem. Plus if you leave it in the back seat of a taxi in Rome you're only out $[...] bucks not $500 like those carbon fibre nightmares that the leg shims wear out on when you're o...

How does the SLIK PRO 700 DX 3-Section Aluminum Tripod Legs stand out in the world of professional photography equipment It's all in the unique A.M.T. super titanium alloy legs. This exclusive material gives the PRO 700 DX tripod an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, 40% greater than standard aluminum. This means you get a tripod that's lighter than it appears, yet stronger than most tripods on the market today.
Designed to handle the weight of large format (4x5) field cameras or heavy, long telephoto lenses, the PRO 700 DX is a perfect choice for professional photographers and advanced amateurs seeking strength and stability. Despite its robustness, the use of A.M.T. alloy ensures it remains lightweight and portable, making it a more convenient alternative to the traditional professional series tripods.
Ease of use is a key feature of the PRO 700 DX. It's equipped with secure yet fast speed release leg locks, a gearless center column, and 3-position adjustable angle leg locks. These features facilitate quick and easy setup, even on uneven ground or steps, allowing you to focus more on your photography and less on your equipment.
The PRO 700 DX's center column is comprised of two threaded pieces that can be unscrewed to convert the top piece into a short column. Combined with the adjustable leg angle locks, this feature allows the tripod to be lowered to just 15 inches, perfect for very low angle or macro photography in the field.
When it comes to value, the PRO 700 DX 3-Section Aluminum Tripod Legs, with its titanium finish, is unmatched. Compare its price and features to other professional camera supports, and you'll find that, feature for feature, it offers one of the best values in professional tripods available today.
