About Slik MINI-PRO V

The SLIK MINI PRO V table-top tripod has a 2-way pan head with a pan handle to make moving a camera easier. The two stage legs can be extended about 1.25 inches for added stability with heavier cameras.

A compact traveler, the SLIK MINI PRO V is less than 8 inches long when packed up and weighs less than a pound. Like the other tripods in the MINI PRO line, the SLIK MINI PRO V has a suction cup at the base of the center column which will allow the tripod to be stuck on a window or smooth metal surface for a photo*.

The MINI PRO V can also be used as a chest-pod by raising the center column half way or more and placing the legs against your chest to stabilize the camera.

(* Suction cup will not support a camera weighing more than 16 oz. (1 pound).

Works Great

When vacationing on my motorcycle, it is easy to pack with my 4/3's camera. Now I can place the camera in the right place and be in the picture too.

Nice little tripod. Decent quality. It supports my Canon 7D with a moderately heavy lens. A fun little item.

Just what I expected. GREAT!

By

from Fallbrook, Ca.  -  Avid Adventurer

Just what I wanted. I even use it with my DSLR & 55-200 lens @ 200 on the hood of my car when necessary. It works very well just set it up properly to accommodate front end heaviness.

Tiny tripod !

By

from Parkersburg, WV  -  Pro Photographer

This tiny tripod is ideal for those doing low-level photography (mushrooms, bugs, etc.) as well as for what I use it for ... to safely support my Zoom H4n digital audio recorder in awkward locations or even on the table top.

A Little GIANT

By

from Lower Fairfield County, Connecticut  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I purchased this tripod to store my camera on prior to going out to a shoot. I have found that storing it on the tripod has more advantages than resting it on a table, desk or inside one of the camera bags. When I am ready to leave, I simply unscrew it from the tripod and I am on my way. Yes, it could be used for macro shooting and almost any other type of shooting, however, due to its size, it of course has obvious limitations. It will never take the place of my Manfrotto or Induro monopod nor was it purchased to do so. Use common sense and you'll clearly understand why you need it or plan to purchase it. It is certainly worth the purchase price.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  This may have been answered somewhere else, but I just wanted to be positive. Could this hold a Nikon D5100 and lens?
Charles O  I have successfully used this tripod with my Canon Rebel xti and the 18-55 lens. However it does not stay steady when I attach my 400 mm zoom lens at 4 lbs.
Shopper  will it take vertical photos?
SCOTT S  It will allow the portrait position but I would not recommend doing so with a set up any larger than a point & shoot or a small DSLR. I attached it to my Nikon D40 body and 18-55mm kit lens and put it vertical before answering this question, it held but I personally would not attach a heavier set up to it.
Shopper  WIll this tripod be able to hold my Canon EOS 5D to take close up pictures of my jewellery in a light box?
FREDERICK H  It is the lens weight/ physical length that is important with this tripod. I use it all the time in macro photography, AND AM VERY CAREFUL TO MAINTAIN STABILITY OF IT. I have used a Nikon 015mm macro lens and Tamron 28-300mm with it. Be sure one leg of the tripod is pointing in the same direction as the lens. I also use a 10" X 12" plate glass platform for the tripod to rest, engaging the suction cup. This way I can slide the glass plate with camera camera easily. It is a good product. Of course, as with any equipment, it has its limitations. -Fred Hawkins
