About Slik 340DX AMT

The Slik Pro 340DX compact travel tripod makes an excellent traveling companion for your point-and-shoot camera or light-weight Digital SLR. Slik's exclusive A.M.T. super Aluminum-Magnesium-Titanium alloy legs make the Pro 340 DX tripod rock steady, yet lighter than it looks. The A.M.T. alloy has a 40% greater strength to weight ratio than standard aluminum, making it lighter and stronger than the standard metal used in most tripods.

The Pro 340 DX makes setting up easy with secure, speed-release leg locks (example pictured left). Padded leg wraps make the tripod more comfortable to carry. A gearless center column and 3-position, adjustable angle leg locks allow easy set-up on uneven ground or steps.

Slik 340DX AMT Features

  • Speed Release Lock levers allow for fast set up
  • 3-Position leg locks allow for leg openings of independent angles
  • Rubber leg tips for maximum traction outdoors and protection to surface indoors
  • Foam covered upper leg sections for easy handling in extreme hot or cold weather
  • Maximum upper leg diameter of 27mm

Excellent tripod for the new-sized slrs

Weight is good, mechanics are stiff but wear will handle that. Looking forward to getting out and using it.

Questions about this item:

René H  There is q big discrepancy in the stated weight of this tripod. Slik's website states only 1160 grams, Adorama states 1,500. Anyone able to verify which it is?
JAMES W  I pulled out my US Postal Service digital scale and weighed the tripod, no head, 4 different times, rotating it each time so the legs would apply pressure in different areas assuming the scale had a bias towards where pressure was applied. Each time it weighed 2 pounds 9.8 ounces = 1185 grams.
