No compromises, in grand style, THE PROFESSIONAL 4 will elevate your camera to new heights. With a maximum working height of 99.5 inches (that's 8 and a quarter feet!) this tripod will get up above the crowd. This solid draft horse of a tripod will empower you to experience a new higher perspective in your photography.
With professional features like worm gear elevation of the center column, durable all metal leg and fitting construction, and the ability to hold more than 20 pounds of equipment, this tripod will give years of unyielding service.
The leg angle locks allow you to set the tripod to 3 different height positions. Each lock is independent, so you can set up quickly and easily on steps or uneven terrain.
The groove, in an already dynamically strong circular tubing, prevents the leg from spinning around, and allows simple and secure locking. It also allows you to extend the leg from any section, regardless of the order.
The 2nd leg section has reference grooved marks at 10cm intervals, to allow you easy, and even height adjustments.
Center column elevation works only at the turn of a crank, thus there are no accidental falls.
The professional series has both large and small thread. When not in use, the screw fits into the side of the head where it's out of the way but always handy.
The reversible head attachment screw on the center elevation post lets you use heads with either large or small screw holes.
The head has 2 bubble levels for easy leveling, recessed against damage. By exchanging the center elevation column to a short center column (optional accessory), you can obtain a very low height of 385mm.

This Tripod is rock solid and inspires confidence. I only wish I had bought it sooner. This Slik Pro 4 (619975) Tripod has exceeded my expectations in every respect. Stability and size were my primary requirements. I am an architectural photographer. Long multiple exposures are the rule not the exception. The least bit of vibration or instability reduces the sharpness of layered images and creates processing headaches. I also sometimes need altitude. This Tripod gets TALL. Like over 8 feet TALL. But with the (highly recommended) short column option, it can go down to 9" low. I use it with a Manfrotto 405 gear head and Manfrotto 438 compact leveling mount, which are also no lightweights. The combined outfit will make a mule groan at 15+ lbs. But, it looks and performs PROFESSIONAL GRADE in every way. Although you will rarely need to raise the center column, it is made incredibly stable with the included dual locking collars at the top and bottom of the bracket. The leg angle locks also have a precise feel and a satisfying steely click. The big rubber twist locks feel very secure and loosen and tighten with only a quarter turn. Because of the tripods dimensions, you rarely need to extend more than one or two leg sections which means it is that much more solid. It is of course 11+ pounds before you add a head. But, compared to it's Carbon Fiber brother the Slik Professional 4 CF, it is $700 less with nearly identical specs. The trade off is an added 3 pounds of weight to lift and carry. Personally, I decided to save that $700. and time at the Rec. Center by combining my photography and workout time. So there you have it. Save time and money and get great shots all while burning calories and adding muscle.
